Everytime I see Tyrod I remember all of the silly ass criticism we took for benching him..... Sure , Peterman was beyond bad but there was a reason we benched Taylor. The offense was downright anemic. Alot of that had to do with Dennison but Tyrod definitely deserved his fair share of the blame.
I kind of rethought about that in light of the Tomlin move to Wilson this year.

The coaching staff knew that our offense wouldn't be able to do anything against playoff defenses (as shown by the 10-3 loss to JAX in the playoffs). Why not see if the unknown (who obviously practices well considering he kept getting jobs after his debacle) can upgrade the unit

Now obviously there was some mitigating circumstances back then, the playoff drought hanging over the franchise's head first and foremost, but I don't think it was as egregious of an error as it seemed at the time.

Bah the Jets are going to score against our 3rd stringers

Or the criticism when we moved on him after breaking the drought and drafting Allen. There’s a great deadspin article casting shade on the bills for doing so
We made it known that Tyrod wasn't in our future plans well before that so seeing all that shade was funny. I will always respect Tyrod but he was a middle of the road starter ffs. Shady was the only reason that our offense was even watchable during the Taylor era.

And the playoff year Shady was running on fumes. His ypc was like 3.7 or something like that.
