All I want for Christmas is Allen's throwing arm to be 100% healthy

I was hoping for the number one seed, but if you need to win out and for the Chiefs to lose their next two games... that's just not going to happen. So I'd rather the Chiefs lock down the number one seed early, and for Josh to sit the final two games.

I don’t think Allen should sit this Sunday even if the Chiefs lock up the 1. We can still be caught for the 2 seed. We need one more win to lock up the 2. Get that and then sure sit everyone you can in week 18.

The Bills magic number to lock up the 2 seed is one.

I think Josh plays against the Jets and sits, along with a bunch of other starters, in NE, as long as they take care of business on Sunday.

Yup. Exactly my point. Lock in the two seed on Sunday and rest everyone you can the final week. Unless by chance the one seed is in play which I doubt.

The good thing is that with the way this week's schedule plays out, they could be locked into the 2 seed before they play Sunday.

If KC beats Pittsburgh and Houston beats Baltimore tomorrow, KC is the 1 seed and Buffalo is the 2 seed.

That could lead to Allen playing a half versus the Jets to not be too rusty going into that first week of the playoffs.

Yep, if those results happen, I totally see McDermott playing starters for a half and then resting them, and maybe even doing the same thing next week too. It's what he did in 2020 for the last game against Miami (and the 2 seed wasn't even guaranteed going into that game, though homefield advantage was off the table).

If the seed isn't locked in I don't see him resting starters against the Jets. If it's still in doubt next week we could see a similar "we don't really care about the seed" resting of players, but not two weeks out.

Yeah for sure. I can see them being cautious with injuries and not rush players back even that could play if they had to/it was the playoffs. Which they’ve been doing all along it seems but especially these last two weeks.

On Monday, Texans coach DeMeco Ryans told reporters that Dell tore the ACL in his dislocated left knee.

“He dislocated his knee, he tore his ACL, and some other things there he will have to get repaired," Ryans said. "So, he’ll be out for the year. Tough news.”

On Tuesday, Texans beat reporter Aaron Wilson revealed the "other" damage that Ryans alluded to. Per Wilson, Dell also tore the LCL and MCL in his left knee in addition to sustaining meniscus damage. Wilson's report also clarified that Dell dislocated his entire knee, not just his kneecap.

I think it's the same injury Teddy Bridgewater had? He came back and played but was never quite the same. Different position, so who knows how well it translates.
Sounds like the same injury Alvin Mack had in The Program. Went from Tackle King to Burger King in one college down of football.
