Half of the players either don't have a contract with the team for next year or have a non-trivial chance of being cut.

Depends who you are. If you’re Nabers…yeah. Get me the best QB you can for the next several years. If you’re not a rookie first round stud…you’re playing for your next contract. Here or elsewhere. You gotta make plays.
