I just can't fathom why you're running on 1st down if you're not trying to score.

I get it if you're on the 25 or whatever since a longer field goal is less likely. But they were on the 7 or 8 so it's a ~25 yard field goal. That's as automatic as it gets.

So, Cincy had the ball at 2nd and goal from the 1 with Denver having no TO and like 1:30 left on the clock and they don't just take 2 more knees to set up a 4th down FG attempt with under 10 seconds to go? Is that for real? WTF?

Denver had one TO, so they couldn’t have got it down to 10 seconds, but they could have taken it down to well under a minute and no TO’s for Denver.
