Woah. I had only seen the final score between the Colts and Titans. 335 rushing yards for the Colts!?
There’s are very big differences here in that McCarthy was never in the game here. Carson Wentz got hurt with a month to play in the season. The framework of business indicates that McCarthy will have the throne even if Darnold wins the Super Bowl(I cite Nick Foles). When they negotiated the CBA whenever, the system obliges both team and rookie QB to put the rookie out there.
Darnold will likely have to see if there is another opening in the Shanaland or other West coast offense teams like Dallas.
Taylor made real sure he had a hold of the football when he crossed the goal line in the middle of the fieldWoah. I had only seen the final score between the Colts and Titans. 335 rushing yards for the Colts!?
In hindsight Foles fit Pederson's system. Wentz wasn't the same guy coming back. Got more careless with the ball, though he did at one point end up losing WR1-3. That PO loss to Seattle where he got concussed by Clowney, seemed to be a major turning point. Don't think he played as well after that. There’s are very big differences here in that McCarthy was never in the game here. Carson Wentz got hurt with a month to play in the season.
The Eagles also went about that under the auspices that they won the Super Bowl with Carson Wentz. Yes, Nick Foles won the game on the field, but was Wentz was 11-2, may have been MVP had he not been hurt. Of course, the dynamics of that didn’t make sense, and it became that it did work.
Ten is likely to go out and look for another QB option in the off season.Mason Rudolph now has a higher int% than Will Levis.
Are we sure the Titans' coaches aren't just out there telling them it doesn't matter who catches the ball as long as they don't hit the ground?
Assuming they lose the last two games, I think they pick Sanders (or Ward). Give Callahan a QB he picked. Slim pickings among vet alternatives this off season. Fields, Jones, Jameis. Anyone else? No real potential starters.Ten is likely to go out and look for another QB option in the off season.
They are stuck in limbo. Not bad enough to get high draft picks but not good enough to go anywhere.New Orleans is so bad.
Think it comes down to KOC. Who does he want to have as his QB. Like you said, if you believe he can do for JJ what he's done for Cousins and Darnold, then you get 3 cheap years from JJ vs paying $40 mill (franchise tag #) for Darnold or term him like Baker with $65 mill guaranteed over 3 years for $110 mill total or something.
I don't know if JJ is capable of multiple seasons better than what Darnold has given the Vikings this season. Going to be interesting at least in Minny.
He looked completely unaware of the two players that were running at him from right in front of him. Looked weird.Poor ball security by Rattler.
Agreed. Badly coached as well. They are stuck in limbo. Not bad enough to get high draft picks but not good enough to go anywhere.
He didn’t because to Howie and Jeff Lurie he was god for the above reasons. There was a rumor that Howie had one of those fatheads of Wentz in his office. In hindsight Foles fit Pederson's system. Heard on a recent podcast with Sproles on it that he said Wentz didn't take to coaching that well. Probably the main reason teams moved off him and why he hasn't gotten another starter's job, as that must have gotten out after his Indy/Wash stints.
Was hoping he'd start vs Houston to see what Reid could do with him. But, alas, Mahomes played. Might see Wentz in week 18 vs Denver if they beat Pitt on Xmas and wrap up #1 seed. Don't love the idea of 2 weeks off for Mahomes, but probably best to rest that ankle than risk it.
Its hard to believe they had like a 30 points leading late in the 3rd with that many rushing yards you would think they can control the clock.Woah. I had only seen the final score between the Colts and Titans. 335 rushing yards for the Colts!?
You guys are getting Rodgers.I think that mid-tier QB is one of the worst bets in football. It's great for these guys having a resurgence and getting paid but where is it getting these teams?
Bucs are 17-15 since Baker became the starter, Seahawks are 25-22 with Geno, Saints are 14-13 with Carr, Vikings were 50-37-1 with Kirk, etc. Those teams have won a combined two playoff games in those years.
If Darnold is going to be an MVP caliber QB gunning for the top seed every year then that's a different story. Realistically, his best case is probably settling into that 10-15 range where he needs a really good team around him, which means paying $35-45M/yr for a QB who needs to be elevated by his surroundings rather than being the one making everyone better. IMO, that's a bad place to be in. I lived that for six years with Kirk as the Vikings QB.
