I get no coach is perfect, but poor coaching has been responsible for a few playoff losses. I'm very happy we have a good coach like McDermott, but after a few gaffs, most people are going to be quick to point out failures when they continue to show up. The Bills winning a superbowl makes this all go away. But for now people will question him on bad calls and rightfully so.

Hes definitely grown, its just been very slow. He's not as quick to be conservative and is more trusting of his playmakers than he used to be. I want him to now be the coach that regularly outmaneuvers the man on the other sideline, not just outscores him.

McD may have issues eating shite publically over things going on you perceive to understand but you don't

what he's done covering w scheme w Babich and giving rookies and sophomores the ability to be successful in a fooked league where western NY does everything twice.

McD is a great coach for buffalo pissed enough to flip a script that Kelly and Levy couldn't F agendas, masons , insecure control mechanisms

Think we're hoping for Denver to lose to the Chargers and Bengals so that the last game of the season isn't a "who cares" game for Denver. Denver's played KC more than tough over the last couple of seasons.

Of course, that could leave the window open for Cincy to sneak into the playoffs if KC beats Denver anyway.

I’m interested to see when the Denver/KC game is scheduled.

I don’t think clinching status will matter to Denver much. The difference between possibly playing @ Buffalo/KC or @ Pittsburgh should be enough. And I’m sure if they have an opportunity to ruin the one seed for KC that’ll be an added bonus.

I’m more worried about our defense. They’ve given up 90 points in the last 2 weeks. Expecting Allen to perform at this level every game just to have a chance at winning is kind of unreasonable.

It was noticeable when Elam, Milano, and Bishop went down. The Lions made it look easy once they went down. I thought the defense was making the Lions work for it prior to those injuries.

McD’s focus and commitment to building a physical offensive line and a team able to run the ball has freed Josh up to have the best year of his career in a multi dimensional offense.

Many on this board were critical of him being an old conservative outdated defensive mind for his constant focus on being able to run the ball and win up front.

Not only was McD right that this was the answer, it unleashed our franchise QB to win his first MVP and hopefully a Lombardi.

QB Allen reaches new heights, keeps Bills rolling

Josh Allen continues to write his name in the record books as he led the Bills past the Lions on Sunday.

Before joining the Buffalo Bills this offseason, Mack Hollins saw what Josh Allen is capable of on a football field by watching games on TV and playing on teams against him.

Early into his time with the Bills, there was some surprise. That quickly dissipated.

"[Initially it] was like, 'Oh, he really does this in real life,'" Hollins said. "... But he consistently does it. So, it's not a surprise. It's not luck, it's not a fluke. It's just who he is."

Oliver was a force.

Williams came back, but his elbow had some hardware on it. Just because he was able to come back doesn't mean that he isn't dealing with something pretty bad.

Playing with the NFL playoff machine a little bit:

We need to stay 1 game ahead of the Steelers for the 2 seed. Any tie with Pittsburgh going forward means that we finish with a worse conference record.

Pittsburgh finishes with the Ravens, Chiefs and Bengals. One loss from them and 2 Buffalo wins guarantees us 2 seed at minimum.

So root like hell for the Ravens next week and the Steelers the following week. Then the chips fall where they may for the 1 seed.

This game was effectively over after onside kick and ray davis TD.

Through 3 quarters they held the leagues best offense to 21 points

One of those TDs was a deep shot TD that Buffalo tipped and was still caught.

Literally 2 more inches that thing is in the air and falls to the ground on 3rd and 17 and we get the ball back.

I get it they got dog walked in the 4th quarter, but they were playing a deep shell with their 4th string safety in vs the leagues best offense.

I'll give you last week the defense was not prepared. that's on McDermott.

This week, they walked into the best team in the leagues house, who had 3 extra days rest AND we had a west coast game the week before. And we blew the doors off them and they got back in the game in garbage time vs a banged up secondary.

Hated watching the garbage time comeback; yeah, the injuries played a role, but they were scoring so fast. Also, I watched a healthier secondary get destroyed a week ago, so, the problems seem more universal.


I saw it elsewhere, but yeah, I have an agenda. I don't believe in McDermott in pressure situations. He's proven awful as recently as the Rams game. I Allen to win a SB for Buffalo so bad, and the biggest non-KC obstacle to me is their own HC.

I’m with you. I’m skeptical McDermott can take this team all the way to the top. He’s a good coach. Is he good enough to win a Super Bowl, though? Is he capable of actually learning from his past mistakes and doing better? I’m not sure. He really needs to start delivering in the post-season.

I don’t understand what the logic is behind a coach is good enough to get to the final four playoff teams, but not won a Super Bowl. We lost by 3 points to the chiefs while decimated on defense by injuries. Two years before, we lost in overtime to the chiefs. We were in the AFC championship the year before. What is the reasoning/argument that a coach is good enough to do that, but not win a superbowl. It seems like an entirely results driven argument.

Part two of the question is what did Andy Reid change or do differently to become good enough after not being good enough for all those years
