They had no timeouts with :13 and it was 3rd down. They weren't gaining 15 yards and getting out of bounds, lol.
Exactly. Say it was a false start. Then it is a 55 yard attempt for that spot with 15 seconds. To gain 8 yards then clock the ball in 14 seconds? That is unlikely. Took LV 13 seconds from the end of the 7 yards gain to clock the ball from 28 to 15 seconds.

KC would be sitting on side line plays. Leaving only middle of the field. Have to convert the first because no time to get off another play. And even that, have to get on the ball fast and get set to clock the ball.

Possible, but when you can’t get the snap off properly can you expect to execute a play and ensure enough time on the clock for the FG attempt by either going out of bounds or being fast enough to spike the ball if in boundsv

Raiders players confirming postgame they even verbally heard false start called, lineman who was on the top of screen said it was clear as you can hear

So basically raiders agree they messed up and would have made it 3rd and 8 from the 38 yard line thus a 55 yard attempt from there with a K who missed 3 from 50+.

With 15 seconds left, what are the options for the raiders? Either it’s out of bounds. But KC D going to play the sidelines so potential for a pick or something if they jump the route. No guarantee the raiders can get any yards.
Incomplete thus a 55 yard attempt.
Or since KC is likely to give up middle of the field and dare a raiders team that needed 13 seconds from the prior play to clock the ball.

So, raiders would need to be much faster as a play would take like 4 seconds to gain 8 yards maybe 5 seconds. Leaves 10 or 11 seconds left. Has to be a quick decision. Can’t be like Caleb and double clutch and go next read yesterday. 1 read route. And has to make the line of the gain in order to have any chance to spike the ball. No time to run the FG unit on. Otherwise it is a Hail Mary even if you can ge the snap off before time runs out. 9 or maybe 10 seconds to fully execute a clock play. Otherwise it’s Dal/SF from a couple years ago.

LV would still have a chance but they would have made it much harder on themselves cause they couldn’t execute.

Just saw the clip of Tom Brady and Kevin Burkhardt being served the turducken. But they only grabbed the leg and at it.

Bruvs, you only eating turkey legs. You ain’t eating turducken. You’re at Fox, you never seen the turducken? Brady’s won on Thanksgiving multiple times. You gotta cut into that thing, first long ways down the middle, and then across

It feels like the same teams always outsmart themselves.

Exactly. Then did a reporter follow up and ask that since the 1st down completion was down at about 28 seconds. So, did not have to spike it for another 10 seconds. So something didn’t get communicated.
The OC took over in Nov.

But like Flus, HC should be making the call of what to do. Before that drive he needs to have asked Carlson his target. If he said 50, then the O hit the minimum mark.

So if you just wanted to kill time, no reason to spike early. That requires a decisive decision to be made. Just shows you how bad teams bumble things. And how defensive HC struggle at end of game offensive situations.

Carlson missed 3 kicks from 50+. So logical to try for some more yards there. Could have spiked after the Myers catch at the 40 to catch their breath and regroup. 2 downs left. Currently at 57 yard attempt with like 40 seconds to go.

The spike was 13 seconds from the end of the play for them to execute. So LV would have been super tight to get a first down in bounds then spike the ball if a play takes 4 seconds to run.

Even if the flag was for false start that means 3rd and 8 with no TO and 15 seconds. KC would defend the sidelines. So you have to make the line of the gain in order to spike the ball all in 14 seconds.

So Pierce botched the end of game situation. He’s a Campbell type culture guy of HC. But you need the HC to be situation ally aware and decisive.
