I swear that almost makes me not want to bitch about our coach ever again.....almost.
All my McDermott bitching comes with the understanding that he’s being graded on the harshest curve because his mistakes are far more meaningful. Mhe gets out-coached every single post season. That’s what he should be judged on. I stopped caring about his regular season accomplishments years ago. Allen is taking any coach to the playoffs. I argue no coach could do worse once they get there.

I suspected tanking in the Washington game. Eberflus literally gave the Hail Mary a chance by not calling the proper defense the play before. Which would have been "Guard the sidelines, force a completion in the middle". But they just literally gave Washington the yards.
I was honestly kidding, lol. Just figured everyone would say that.

Eberflus is such a mess, what a disaster

Remember when they ran 12 seconds off to get to the two minute warning on themselves? Don’t know why that popped in my head just now.

McDermott is fine the Bills normally lose because their D is injured in the playoffs and suck at executing at the end of games and I'm sure he's not telling Bass to miss game tying kicks.

HC can call a TO from the sidelines. Sacked at 32 seconds. From that spot it was a 59 yard attempt. So, had to get a few yards to make it a lower 50 yard attempt at a minimum. Better to call the TO and then regardless of what happens, you have plenty of time to run the FG team onto the field. Need about 15/16 seconds from the end of 3rd down to be able to get set with the FG team.

Or that 3rd down play gets called faster. Didn't seem like the Bears players expected to run the play. Expected a TO so they were late. Veteran Kmet appeared to be advising the WR to his left of the play call.

Just a mess.

I’m seeing defense can’t get stops and end of half coaching decisions are a disaster.

Hmm…who is in charge of these things?

Allen plays near perfect playoff ball. That’s every coaches starting point. You want to blow every end of half sequence and get FIVE TOTAL STOPS IN THREE PLAYOFF GAMES VS KC…it’s all on you. Defense wasn’t depleted in all three of those games. Or the Bengals game. Or the game they almost lost to Skyler Thompson.

Everything that is good about Buffalo in the playoffs comes from Allen. And you get to keep that no matter who the coach is. KC gets stopped more against every other coach they face in the playoffs. Every single one.

One time, sure.
But this last sequence was so inexplicable, it becomes the more rational explanation. Both QB and coach forgetting the timeout and 3rd down? I highly doubt Williams forgot everything he did in college.
HC and OC should be standing beside each other. Have a young QB, so better to call a TO vs what Det likely would do with a vet in Goff. Again, if you call TO at 30 seconds, your 3rd down play won't last more than 7/8 seconds so ends before the 20 second mark. Plenty of time to run the FG team onto the field if you get a few yards in bounds.
