I don’t know how to judge effort on that playing surface. You can’t confidently run…which puts the offense at a big advantage. It’s why both teams could run so effectively. Passing games? You’re just chucking and hoping no one falls down. The two QBs threw for less than 250 combined. You just couldn’t really trust it.
As someone mentioned this field isn’t like the snow game we had last week. It’s not heated. There is no grip. You get snow stuck in your cleats and you are skating out there until you can get to the sideline to change them or chip it out. Heated fields cover in snow but you step on it and it evaporates. Buffalo won’t that until the new stadium is operational. This was backyard ball in sneakers.
They had some nextgen stats during the game that told the story. Slowest route running of the year. Slowest pass rushing of the year. I think the teams combined for maybe one sack. You just tried to stay in your lane and hope. As someone who has walked around Buffalo during snow…you ain’t going nowhere fast.
