And nobody circles those wagons like the Buffalo Bills, involved in one of three matchups this week of teams with 7 wins or more - the first time in NFL history this takes place in Week 11. I also want to make a PSA, so you can all plan your Thanksgiving accordingly - the Cowboys are playing the Giants in the middle game of that day. A 4:30 eastern start, that's when it will be safe to eat dinner. It's also the end of the international games, so all of your mornings are free. Not that it should've stopped anyone last week
Thursday Night, Prime Video:
WSH @ PHI: The Eagles have quietly moved into first place in the NFC East on account of running over some pretty flawed teams, to be modest at best. Last week was a sleepwalk 34-6 win over Dallas, which should've been more than that if not for some turnovers, which we haven't seen from Jalen Hurts since coming off their bye. It's the second tough game in a few days for the Commanders, who lost to the Steelers late, by 1 point. If WFT can pull off the upset in Philly (as they did two years ago when the Eagles had been undefeated), they will move back into first place with a home game against the Eagles still to come. The Eagles are 7-2 or better in Week 11 for the third straight season.
MAPS
GB @ CHI: Fox kind of has the short end of the stick with the matchups this week, they chose this one as their #1. Green Bay is off the bye after losing to Detroit at home, while the Bears have lost 3 in a row since their bye, with their offense going back to looking awful. The Bears find themselves out of a playoff spot, and with a new offensive coordinator that was fired by the Panthers last year.
LAR @ NE: The Rams have to make the longest trip possible, and play the early window in New England, on a short week. That's not enough to make the Patriots (-5 is a lot, too) favored despite wins in 2 of their last 3.
CLE @ NO: The Jameis Winston Revenge Game. Who'd of thunk it? The Browns got walked over by the Chargers last week. Meanwhile, the Saints put a great effort together against their blood rival Falcons to snap a 7-game losing streak for interim head coach Darren Rizzi, who evidently takes huge shits.
SEA @ SF: The 49ers are set to climb out of their early season hole, aiming to be the team no one wants the play in the playoffs with the return of Christian McCaffrey. The Seahawks, meanwhile, are a team everyone wants to play, winners of 1 of their last 6. 49ers have also won 6 in a row against them.
ATL @ DEN: Falcons are coming off that loss to the Saints, and they have not lost to Denver since 2008 (3 games), and are still in good shape in the division. The Broncos are coming off the heartbreaker in Kansas City, losing on that blocked field goal. Little known fact: they hold the last wild card spot.
BAL @ PIT: I don't know if anyone knows what to expect here, even though it's one of the best games of the week. Both teams have 7 wins, although the Ravens are still the road favorites. A rivalry that's usually appointment viewing, but it one of the most anticipated in a while. The Steelers have not lost under Russell Wilson, now 3-0, while the Ravens are 7-3 despite somehow losing to both the Raiders and Browns, but have only lost 1 of their last 8, and come off the half bye after another dramatic win over the Bengals. Too bad that it's an early window local coverage game. We'll definitely get to see how serious the Steelers are.
JAX @ DET: The Lions had their toughest win of the season last week, winning despite Jared Goff throwing 5 interceptions, and erasing a 23-7 halftime deficit, and winning with a last second field goal on Sunday Night Football. Huge effort by that defense. That's not going to happen again, especially since they're playing the Mac Jones-led Jaguars at home. No surprise that they're 13.5-point favorites, probably the biggest line we'll see all year.
IND @ NYJ: The Jets are favored, again. And that was before the Colts announced the switch back to Anthony Richardson from Joe Flacco, a move Shane Steichen has stated is for the season. Aaron Rodgers is already taking about pride. And playing next season.
MIN @ TEN: The Vikings have a get-right game here, that they really need to get right. The loss to the Lions on October 20 is forgivable, but their last three games haven't been very inspiring, even though they've won two of them. They are still 7-2, but there was a game two weeks ago between two NFC North teams that was for the 1 seed in the NFC and did not involve them.
LV @ MIA: The Dolphins grinded one out against the Rams in LA on Monday Night, which probably surprised some people. Now the Raiders follow them back out east. The Dolphins at 3-6 are second in the AFC East, and have a manageable schedule. Gardner Minshew starts for the Raiders.
Sunday Late Window on CBS:
KC @ BUF: There a lot of juice here. Enough juice that it's a full-national game - the only game in the late window for CBS's doubleheader. That's why there's only two maps. The NFL Today crew is also going to be on-site, Lot 6 of Highmark Stadium, likely in view of tables being set on fire. I can't remember the last time that happened for a regular season game. The Chiefs are 9-0, and although everyone's waiting for them to collapse based on their way their offense remains looking the way it has for upwards of a year now - they came into the season wanted the football world to know that their offense was back. The Bills are 8-2, and had to pull away late from the Colts last week, but it is their best start since 1993. The two teams have split their last 6 meetings, but the Chiefs have all the wins in the playoffs. This game will have the best combined record of the two teams since the Chiefs and Rams (both 9-1) played what became a historic game, 54-51 - the only game in NFL history where both teams scored 50 points - one that Mexico missed out on, back in 2008.
Sunday Night Football, NBC:
CIN @ LAC: Flex-scheduling in effect. This was originally supposed to be Colts vs. Jets. Thank goodness. It seems like every week is last call for the Bengals to finally get their shit together before the season gets away from them, just as another game against the Ravens did last week, but with a win here and a Colts loss (they get the Lions next week anyways), and a Broncos loss (who have a weak schedule), the Bengals would control their destiny for the playoffs as they're currently one game behind the Broncos for the last wild card - with a H2H to play. A win here also brings the #6 seed Chargers - very quietly 6-3 - back to them a bit. They're not in a good place with tie breakers, but they are hanging around. However, the Chargers are at home, so they are slight favorites. By the way, Justin Herbert has only thrown one interception this season, even though they're a want-to-run team.
Monday Night Football, ABC/ESPN:
HOU @ DAL: Man, the Texans really gotta be sour after last week's loss to the Lions. A chance to make a statement gets away. However, it looks like they will get Nico Collins back, and the Texans offense has been functionally different since he got hurt. Collins was the NFL's leading receiver when he left the lineup. And he will pick up right where he left off I'm sure since I just traded him and CJ Stroud in one of my fantasy leagues. The Cowboys won't have the sun among their many worries. Dak Prescott is done for the season. Excellent chance for the Texans to get their first ever win in Dallas.
