Stop making excuses for Mac. Tired of the crap, he is not Hurts, he is no Tua. Stop saying if they had better guys Mac would be good. He is not a good QB. That interception throw was just god awful and on him.

It took one year for other teams to figure out Mac. Thats one of the reasons he is getting worse besides a trash roster

It's easy to figure out a player when his team doesn't invest in an offensive line and give him wide receivers who can get separation because the coach/GM is a bitter pill to work for.

Was Mac Jones the second coming of Tom Brady? No. Was he ever going to repeat his rookie season success? Probably not, can't say for sure. Did Bill Belichick put him and the team in a position to fail with personnel decisions and coaching staff hires because he wanted to be comfortable rather than win? You bet your ass he did and now the Patriots have hit rock bottom because of it. No one but Bill Belichick is to blame for this team falling from its highest peaks to the lows we are seeing right now. Belichick never should have been given that contract extension and he should be fired immediately for the farce he's set up in Foxboro.

Id cut Mac and fire Bill tomorrow. no reminders please of this post brady era of shame

Why? So we can have Jay Fiedler 2: electric boogaloo have a good statline in a meaningless game so dumb f***s like Jim Murray can pretend he's a starting QB and ruin the Patriots' tank? No.

Might as well either ride or die with Mac so he can keep losing you games or put Malik Cunningham under center for something different offense wise.

I think Zappe is just as bad if not worse than Jones. With that said I’d play Zappe going forward, I think Pats players have lost all hope in Mac. Zappe still loses us most games going forward and the tank should be successful.

On another note while I agree the failures of this franchise lay at the feet of Belichick (& Kraft), I do watch the games and what I’m seeing from Max Jones is not NFL caliber play. He flat out sucks.

So a Kirk Cousins & Harrison Jr would definitely get this team to .500 football. I think they should aim higher. It starts with drafting a QB imo
I agree but I am just looking at it from a perspective that Harrison is in a class of his own. It's a conundrum for sure though.

That’s what I’ve read. Drafting WR that high scares me, especially with Pats history of drafting WR in 1st round lately. My thinking is it’s been a long time since the team has had a top 5 draft pick. It’s easier & cheaper to find a WR in free agency. The QB not so much. For instance i’d prefer Drake Maye & Tee Higgins (24 yrs old) next season. Higgins most likely getting 20m+ in free agency. Cousins (age 35) will most likely command 30m+.

Do the Bears Cardinals Giants reset at QB? Id so do you gamble on Fields Murray D.Jones? Maybe Kyler Murray. Murray & Harrison Jr? It’ll be an interesting off season.

Which is going to be more heartbreaking?

Winning too many meaningless games and playing yourself out of the top 3.

Successfully completing the tank and selecting a lineman with Marvin Harrison Jr. on the board.

So… who are the franchise quarterbacks coming out this year? Anyone worth talking in the high first round? And no, there’s no way Caleb Williams is a franchise QB. Vastly overrated on the field and I’ll bet you lunch that he’ll be a coach-killer and a locker room cancer in the NFL.

I'm not so sure this is the case. The recent WR free agent classes have all been terrible. It's not much different from the UFA center classes. They look good before the season, and then, inevitably, guys are either signed or traded and signed before they actually get to free agency. I'm sure we'll see the same thing this year.

Nothing matters unless we have a roster change. No matter WHO is at QB. We. LACK. TALENT. On both sides of the ball. We paid JuJu all this money for what? We don't have an offensive line. We don't have any good WR's except maybe Douglas. Mondre has finally started to get it going, but he still sucks at catching passes. That's just not him. We miss the James White' of the world.

This is on Bill. This is on drafting. Look at Tyquan Thornton. Where is he? Another f***ing bust.

Yeah. Mac has taken a huge regression. That's not on him. Everyone can thank Bill for the putrid product on the field made possible by his decisions. This is not a good football team. It just isn't a good team. And who put the team together? Bill.

It's pathetic and people have given him a pass for years. He's responsible for the players out there. And we suck because the players aren't good and the coaching isn't good. He ruined Mac and ruined a lot of good players because of his smugness and inability to say yeah I f***ed up, but I'm going to fix these issues. And then not address ANY of these issues in the draft or FA. Not drafting ANY OL players is mindblowing.

I don't event trust that man making a decision drafting next year. I want Harrison. A LEGIT WR. But he's gonna f*** that up too. Kraft HAS to do something.

I tip my cap to you.

I see a complete regression by all our players. This is stuff you see in your 2nd year rookie player, not 3rd. Last year's stink has continued and everyone was effective. I see Mac scared. Then I see him get confident and boom. O-line collapses. I see good and bad. He's gun shy. Who's fault is that? Is this ALL on him? You probably think so. I do not. I think the entire organization deserves a piece of this shit pie. Glad we drafted Thornton to not understand how routes work 2 years later. Or JuJu to suck. Or Gesecki to not be able to block. To have guys like LOWE on our o-line because Brown gets hurt and our o-line is the worst in the NFL.

To have nobody on defense who scares you. Nobody on offense either.

I thought Billy O was going to come here and make us look decent. But that was a mistake. We need to stop hiring from the "Best Friends of Bill" coaching tree.

You’re right that Bill is completely responsible. Usually the teams in this town use the coach as a scapegoat when things go sideways, but in this case Bill is actually at fault.

Never fear, @Mione134, Kraft WILL do something. Bill is as good as gone, and a new regime will be in place shortly after the season is over.

A Derek Carr level qb has this team .500 at worst and he's as mid as it gets for starting qbs. Loses to the Raiders, Commanders and Colts by a combined 11 points with Mac playing like a dumbass. Yeah Bill hasn't surrounded the qb with enough talent but the reason the Patriots are 2-8 is because of Mac Jones.
Yeah, no. The offensive line is a collection of pylons and turn styles. Any quarterback is going to get sped up and sacked with how free the defensive linemen are running. And that doesn’t even take into account the shit receiving options they have if the quarterback does get enough time to set and throw.

Ramondre and Zeke had big games running the ball today with that line. The D was good again 10 points.

You need WR talent to be a contender but not to be an average team which this team isn't its bottom 5. Jones is the worst starting QB in the NFL or at least bottom 3. No questions asked if you consider the guys deemed starter out of camp and not ones playing due to injury. There honestly is noone worse at that position. Lets just all cross our fingers that he is so bad it gives us a shot at drafting someone legit bc you can't sign good QBs in free agency.

Until the Patriots can put a quality O-Line out there, it doesn't matter who the QB is. Let's also be honest, unless the o-line is significantly upgraded and some actual offensive weapons come in, no QB worth a damn is going to want to be our QB.
