McD giving praise to everyone in the organization and not taking all the credit is a big part of the positive culture and McBeane have built within the organization.

I know they hate giving 2 contracts to RBs but Cook is something else. Even with the depth they have there, I'd love to see him back.
Cook is signed through 2025.

Ray Davis is signed through 2027.

Ty Johnson is a UFA after this season.

I will not be shocked if they use a day 3 pick on a Johnson replacement that they hope can develop into a solid #2 with Ray Davis in 2026 & 2027.

I <3 Cook, but he's probably getting paid. Davis + another pick in the early-to-mid rounds should suffice.

Not sure that I like the idea of having Davis as a feature back. He's so compact in stature that he's not an ideal safety blanket for Allen if he needs to pass it off.

Cook is about 4 inches taller and lanky and I like when he lines up on the outside in empty backfield sets. That's a valuable element of his game.

I would be shocked if Beane cut Milano pre-6/1 given that his deal would be under water and it would be more costly to cut him than to keep him.

And the $11M in 2026 dead cap for a post-6/1 cut might mean that is off the table, as well.

Miller is an interesting one. I won't be surprised if they keep him if he looks good the rest of the season. And I won't be surprised if they cut him and save the over $8M against the 2025 cap.

A few thoughts, re: next year.

Miller is gone. It's really a question of pre/post 6/1. (eat the cap now or spread it over 2 years).

As for Milano....I think you are correct. There isn't a character issue there, its a health issue. Hopefully he can play the the late games and the playoffs.

You likely have to re-do Josh Allen's contract at some point as well, though that likely will save cap more than anything.

That makes sense. I was thinking Cook was only signed through this season. Love the Cook/Davis tandem.

He doesn't have the length or ability to slash like Cook but Davis is a heavier back, still quick and regarded as a better pass catcher than Cook. He's different but I don't think we're losing anything in the passing game.

Admittedly, I have a fascination with the longer RBs haha. Started with preferring McGahee over Henry immediately after he was drafted and that turned into Fred Jackson appreciation over Lynch and so forth. I just feel like those running backs with some length to them can get across the sticks easier and are more fluid when it comes to catching passes than the stout guys.

But I do like Ray Davis so far and if he wants to become our Maurice Jones-Drew one day then I'll gladly eat crow.

I saw something the other day that said the Ravens actually have some of the best separation in the league. I don’t think they have a problem with receivers not getting open…

Yeah, I guess McDermott should just resign right now after seeing your post.
Definitely not in his interest to cut off the gravy train but it’s certainly in the franchise’s to not settle for eternal divisional round losses
Well, there were stats that QBs with Josh Allen's college stats never develop into what Allen has developed into. They probably don't put a lot of value in stats like those.

After about a week to think about it, I'd trade for Garrett. The Bills are in year one of Allen Era Bills version 2. They are way ahead of where we thought they'd be. And they've got a legit chance to win the Super Bowl.

Points:
- They've got one of the best offensive lines in football.
- Brady has the offense in a run-centric mode that is winning football games
- McDermott/Babich have the defense working despite injuries and departures.

The Bills need to beat the Chiefs to get to the SB. The Chiefs' offense is playing like hot baby $hit right now but they are still winning. Buffalo needs to pull a page out of Spagnuolo's book and load up on DEs. Babich and McDermott sometimes put Rousseau at 3DT on passing downs. Garrett does the same thing. Having Miller-Rousseau-Garrett-Epenesa to throw at Mahomes is a path to victory. It's how you beat Brady and how you beat Mahomes.

Beane can move on from Miller after the season. Garrett doesn't kill the cap middle term, and when it's time for Allen Bills version 3, Beane just cuts him (3-4 seasons from now).

I would also love a Garrett trade however i don't think the browns will move on.

It's enticing as hell, but probably depends on cost. Another thing to keep an eye on is KC's o line. They arent that great, are they? We could really take advantage of that with Garrett on the line.

I remember Tampa running them out of the building in the SB a few years ago. There were some injuried on their O line + TB had a killer pass rush if I remember correctly. Recipe for disaster. A big reason Buffalo's D struggles in the playoffs against Mahomes is bc they cant generate consistent pressure. I feel like Cincy and TB were able to pressure him.

Im trending toward wanting this move, too. The defense would be something else if they add Garrett and Milano comes back and is nearly healthy for the playoffs.

That gives me hope about Bernard. Not much in that quote to say for sure if Milano will be back, but Im optimistic. All I want for Christmas is a healthy Milano/Bernard tandem at LB!
