This is where Jordan Love really f***ed this QB structure, because how do you pay who has had one half of a good season, plus a playoff win over a guy who ended up getting paid more, and not pay Purdy when he’s won 5 playoff games and was one play away from winning a Super Bowl

Probably because Jordan Love has physical tools that Purdy does not, that make his projected ceiling higher. They’re paying in part for potential that’s yet to be fulfilled.

I think it’s also understood that Purdy has benefited from an outstanding supporting cast, and superior coaching and offensive schemes. That’s one reason why it’s not really fair to rate QB’s by using team success metrics. Jimmy Garappolo has had more playoff success than Love, but certainly no one would argue he should be paid more.
