An article in NHL Trade rumours suggests this:

Flames send to Anaheim:

McKenzie Weegar
2025 32nd overall pick (Florida)

Ducks send to Calgary
D Drew Helleson 6'3" 213 lb right shot
C Nathan Gauche 6'3" 207 lb right shot (2022 22nd overall)
2025 1st 10th overall
2027 2nd (St. Louis)

As a Flames fan, I'd be loathe to trade our best D-man under any circumstance.

But I would do this proposal in a heartbeat if only because, on the surface, it appears to be lopsidedly in Calgary's favour.

Ok Gardner, for my future reference, please list legitimate sources. Thanks!
Honestly, what makes you think that that is a legit rumour? There’s no author named, it doesnt specify where the rumour comes from and the only source is Puckpedia, probably because thats where they looked for contract details.

It was on a site that said NHL Rumours. There are many sites that postulate trades and if someone here feels it is not legitimate then they really need to spell out the 'legitimate' ones.

No different from the so-called NHL 'Insiders' that pontificate daily on their supposed 'rumours'.

Anyone can start a site named liked that. And a lot of people have, doesnt make them any more credible.

I like that deal for both teams. Anaheim cashes in on some of it's youth for a difference making dman that fits their timeframe. Weegar also plays on the right side where they're weaker.

For Calgary, you get several nice assets, but more importantly, after moving Andersson and Kadri, you could really bottom out, and put yourself in a solid position for McKenna, Roobroeck or another top center prospect. Could rent out Backlund and Coleman as well- they'd be top demand from playoff teams. Really like Wolf, Parekh, Zary and Coronato, but the rest of their key players other than pending UFA Andersson are, or are approaching, their mid-30s. They need a franchise forward (or two). Center would be better, but McKenna looks like the rare franchise winger- somewhere between Pastrnak and Kucherov level.

That said, I imagine Calgary will keep Weegar, move Andersson, and continue to toil in the mushy middle. Wolf may be good enough to keep them out of the bottom 5.

I am not arguing that point. I am asking for a list of credible sites with credible rumours since the Illuminati around here deem the referenced site as click bait.

I get the whole click bait argument mind you. It seems most sites these days do exactly that especially in the vacuum of no news. And in the final analysis they are no different than your so-called NHL insiders out there.

Calgary has no intentions of bottoming out or tanking. During this re-tool, I think they will gradually transition older assets to newer assets.

As you say this most likely will feature Andersson first. I am doubtful if Kadri leaves, but if the price is high enough you never know.
