Magic Beans? Not really too familiar with prospects i guess?

Should just hold on to Weegar. Nucks would be much more interested in Gavrikov Provorov Chychrun Theodore Pettersson Orlov than a 7yr contract for a 30yr old
Is Pettersson not the most obvious Canuck come March??

100%… They can’t allow themselves to have both Hronek and Weegar on long term deals. That could end up scary, and not in a good way.

Yes i love Weegar but we wont have room for a contract like that without moving off Hronek who just signed and is dominant with Hughes at tilting the ice currently and younger

Going forward it doesn't make much sense either to block Willander who is a RD and should be top4 or bust and also the OEL cap hit is coming so they need to be careful with a big long term contract addition especially one that is 30yrs old.

Also Lekkerimaki Willander and EP2 should be untouchable (as well as Silovs with Demko's health concerns). Picks are a different story but Lekker for Weegar makes no sense.....Just turned 20 and was the best goal scorer in the SEL last year as a teenager and U20MVP. No Chance we trade that as he's about to help the big club

Ideally as you mentioned you get a 4-5 million dollar LD to replace Forbort but even that will be tight so they may have to find another value Soucy type or just dip into UFAs to be at the deadline ala Zadorov and then let them walk

Hronek would be a luxury with Weegar, he’s someone you can replace or improve on for cheaper.

It’s actually not a no brainer for Vancouver as a 1 for 1. Or would stir conversation but it’s not a slam dunk trade
How does that make sense? There are 60+ minutes in any game, Hronek will at most play 22 minutes a night. The rest of your D-core past Hughes and Hronek is pedestrian at best and if Hughes were to say get injured Vancouver's D-core would probably be bottom 10 in the league. Any team that wants to contend for the cup needs at least 3 guys that could legitimately play top line minutes.

Again I said if Vancouver had the cap space it's a no brainer. They obviously don't so it's clearly not as simple as a 1 for 1. Over the next 5 seasons it's highly unlikely that Lekkerimaki will have anywhere near the impact Weegar that will on any given game. 1 for 1 is a bad trade for Calgary because the value simply isn't there.
