Good news! David Reinbacher has been loaned to the Laval Rocket, so he's playing tonight.

Game is at home, so it's on RDS.

Laval is 8-2-0 in last 10, and is still holding #1 spot overall in AHL. Manitoba is not having a good year. They're 2nd last in AHL and last in Central.
Bad news is they’ve lost 2 of 3 and have about 8 regulars out of the lineup.

Until they start getting healthy, they need to score early and stay out of the damn box. The dumb penalties have been killing them. Mailloux especially.
They're not really missing any of their top players, though.

Staying out of the box is a must.

Are they still the most penalized team in the league?

A lot of the penalties are lazy, but at times the officials just aren't calling things on other teams.

Dauphin was playing top 6 plus you remove 2 veteran D, Tuch and Arsenault from a very effective 4th line, Simmoneau who plays nasty, and Gignac’s speed, I’d say that’s pretty damaging to your lineup. They’ve barely managed 2 lines in some games let alone having 4 pretty solid lines. Condotta, Kidney and Mesar (hurt now too) aren’t exactly picking up the offensive slack. If it wasn’t for Farrel finally finding his game, this team probably would’ve struggled much sooner. Some of these injuries are long term. They need help. Hopefully Hughes doesn’t do something stupid and call players up to replace the guys he trades at the deadline. Montreal isn’t going anywhere but down now. I want to see Laval win it all.

Dauphin and Gignac hurt offensively. It makes it hard to have three lines that are dangerous (or even two).

Arseneau, Tuch and Simoneau hurt on the energy/toughness side. Xhekaj is stuck handling it all or it falls to guys that aren't made for that like Trudeau.

Lindstrom and Jacobs were pretty solid defensively so it weakens that part of the D corps. Several guys have to eat their PK time and defensive assignments.

It's also a lot of vets/older player so the roster is pretty green. This can become a problem as the gamer gets harder towards the playoffs.

The only one that is pretty inconsequential is Mesar.

I hope Segdwick is intensively looking around either for AHL players that could be thrown into NHL deals, some AHL deals to fill holes or FAs that can be brought in to help.
