They play a hybrid system, which it appears they have started to figure out. Man to man below the hash marks and zone hash marks out. I believe that’s what it is.
Yes someone wrote an article and said that is what MSL wants them to play. The- addition of Carrier could make a big difference - replacing a d who may not get the system for a d who probably has no trouble with it.

Holy crap I can't believe we just beat Florida, Tampa Bay & Vegas in a 3 games in 4 nights series on the road!! I'm in shock. I can't wrap my head around it at all.

Are we ... are we good?

🤯

It helped that Hill was shit. Lol They should have kept Thompson.

OMG, party tonight boys, you deserve it. Great game!

7-3 in last 10.
Now, at .500
3 pts back of Ottawa for WC2
3 game winning streak
Dack on a 3 game goal scoring streak
Coming back from deficits

So many good things happening right now.

Happy New Year, everyone!!

:newyear:

In fairness to Dach, we had possession and he was expecting Laine to chip it to him along the boards.

Is Dach a whipping boy on RDS just like this board? TSN's take during the intermission was that the 2nd goal was on Laine.
Nope his job as a center is to cover the slot I think Damphousse knows what he's talking about don't you?
The play was broken down on AC they say good thing about him too but they are not convinced he's a center.
That does not make him a whipping boy.

They are allowing Savard and Xhekaj play a more traditional box out game instead of chasing people around.
Those with mobility harass harass harass.
The improvement for me is also the forwards who are not as confused as to where to be and who to cover.
We still struggle with D joining the play though. :skeptic:

I missed most of the 3rd, but proud of the boys for winning this one!

Vegas lost only two games in December 2024.
This was only their 4th loss at home since the season started.
And the first time they lose a 31st December game apparently (not sure how many they played).

Also,
The first time the Habs win in Vegas since October 2019.
The first time since the 2021 seasons where they manage two 3 wins (or more) streak.

A center's job is also to provide support to the puck carrier in the D-zone when they gain possession and anticipate what's coming. It's a fluid game.

I met Vinny at a Hockey Heroes event a couple of years ago. Nice guy!
