He had to. It was just not gonna work out. Even if it would have been a mistake, I am a big fan of trying to make things happen early, before it is too late.

A game like tonight should show just how much better Trouba is than Myers. Myers is completely outclassed playing top line minutes against a very good teams first line.

It is always like this. We can go on a 20 game winning streak and then lose a game and the sky immediately starts to fall.

Laine needs to play more like he did in the third period...the game is 60 minutes long not 20.
Scheif looked more than a little rusty.

Wheeler and Buff share a lot of stuff in common.

Both shoot on the PP and both take dumb penalties. I hope someone puts an end to it. Just wasteful.

Wheeler is great otherwise on the PP though, and Buff had a good game in this one for sure.

As good as Scheifele played, he looked as he was getting comfortable because he hasn't played a game in a while.

Sucks also because I can tell Hellebuyck was working his butt off, I mean he might need a break, but what also sucks is Comrie isn't ready...

Scheif is back in the line up and he's rusty - as would be expected. You need to play him - he's your top center and he's healthy. The more he plays, the faster he's back in game shape. Wheelers back on the wing - he was noticeably out of position a few times tonight - looks like he needs some time too.
The first line concerns me too - I'm hoping wheeler and Sheif just need some time to get it back.
Don't forget what this line is capable of.

We looked really disorganized tonight - nothing clicking.
We really need our heavy 3rd line back along with Tanev and Hendricks (yes,I said it) - there was consistency across the lines and it's been missing big time lately (not just tonight)
If we were healthy, the 1st line would be my only concern - and that may come around if wheeler gets his act together and Scheif gets back into game shape. No chemistry between Wheels and Scheif tonight and they need to get that back on track down the back stretch.

i agree with this. we also missed Trouba big time in this game.
