We need a volunteer to do GDTs

Would suggest we go with a pitching rotation for a little while and the folks running them could integrate each other's best ideas so there is a bit of a consistent flow...but could still provide individual flair (themes?). Could also prevent burnout and with a committee approach we know who is next in line if RP goes to jail, ADifferentTim gets caught up with Liewieke, Kingsholygrail gets eaten by photoshop, etc.

This is not out of the realm of possibility.

I hope not...I'm not gonna bail him out again.

edit: lmao I didn't see your post RP

After many glorious years, Puck U filed his retirement papers with the league and we will be retiring his number on the wall of the HF greats

Being the class act that he is, he will provide his templates to his successor.

You will have full creative reign(see what I did there) over the GDTs and will compete for the esteemed waffle cup.

Puck him.

Incredibly lame pun alert! :shakehead:facepalm:

I am guaranteeing most of the themes I'm personally using are niche, off the wall, and diverse.

Their GDT is the most accurate info

Yep.

Great way to learn about the opposing teams, too, especially if you're feeling ambitious--can catch links to their beat writers and 'insiders' where appropriate for the best info.

I've found some teams fans are very happy to help and prompt with info...some think we're Belicheck filming their practice and feel that releasing info somehow wrecks their game, shrug. Never hurts to reach out though!.

Funny enough, I found another website more helpful for their lineup since their GDT is using nautical terms for the players. Coyotes blog and such that was updated today, so barring gameday decisions and all it should be accurate.

HMS Bent Elbow reporting for duty! :naughty:

Coyotes Fan coming in peace.
Sorry to hear that Puck U isn't making GDT's anymore as he is among the best I have seen on this site. Plus the Mike Smith Picture will be one of the images best remembered for.

I used to do GDT's so I want to share a few of things going forward to anyone who makes them and if anyone becomes the regular person making them overtime.

1. GDT's aren't hard to make but just very time consuming not only for getting the info but also trying to come up with different stuff to keep others entertained. I wouldn't worry so much about trying to get the lines right as it's rare the lines made in a GDT will match what the head coach puts out on the day of the game.

2. Be prepared to have your work commented on by people of all fanbases either in pubic or in PM. Some won't care at all what is inside of it and some will take GDT's too seriously to where they go full grammar Nazi at times and/or display their hypocrisy.

What do I mean by hypocrisy? Example

Blackhawks Fans on their board make Pro Blackhawks - Anti Panthers GDT. Panthers Fans on their board make Pro Panthers - Anti Blackhawks GDT. Blackhawks Fans(not all) cry fowl over the Panthers Board GDT involving their team.

Hello! Individual boards are meant for the enjoyment of the fans of those specific teams where they can be the Anti-29 other teams as they please.

I mean if you guys want to wish for a nuclear holocaust over seeing any of the other 29 Teams having any degree of success then that is the right of the Kings Fans on their board and no one else has the right to complain about the Pro-Kings Bias.

For me, I got more praise than anything negative and those who sent me negative stuff were usually the opposing teams fans who liked my GDT's most of the time except when it came time to making one involving their team.

3. There are boundaries, even the GDT's. A few Coyotes Fans ended up learning about this the hard way when we learned that even though quite a few pictures and YouTube clips of the Vancouver Riots are funny, they're not allowed to be used for GDT purposes.

Hope this helps.

For whoever ends up doing the GDT (is it Holden Caulfield since we won?), I make these schedule/results images which I usually post to instagram after each game, but I also used to share with PuckU for his GDTs. If anyone needs it regularly, let me know.
