I'm with you Sip. Clitsome is brutal and the Jets are stuck with him until the end of 2016 @ 2 million a year. Chevy dropped the ball on that contract.

It just looks bad because Bogo is out Clitty should be a 5-6 but cause of Injury he gets elevated in the line up. Once Bogo is back less Clitty will make him better but for now just hold your nose wont be much longer

if we're grading on a curve then yeah he was bad and so was Trouba

should just keep Buff and Toby together imo

Always grade to ability , injuries , etc. I think part of this treadmill is that the players that are (and should be ) the best players roller coaster too much.

How to fix that? Honestly not sure , but that is a significant issue imo.

Is there anyone in the league that has as many unforced errors as Mark Stuart? The more time he has the worse the decision he makes.

There's a reason why he has so many blocked shots, it's because there's more shots thrown at him to block. I'd much rather see Ellerby and Pardy as the bottom pairing, but Stuart is pretty much guaranteed to play every game unless he physically can't do it.

[edit]

When Schief or Trouba have the season Ladd had last year, then we'll talk about the C.

In five years I expect one of them will wear it. (or Bogo, if he gets going)

I don't expect it will be before then.

Weren't they talking about Bogo being back by the end of the week earlier in the game? My guess will soon see as our top 4:
Enstrom-Buff
Bogo-Trouba

I suspect that the reason Scheifele is being interviewed more is that there is more to interview him about.

Yup and its a good thing that there are more people to interview. It means the team is starting to get more talented. Also I imagine Ladd would welcome the young talent stepping up and helping him lead.

I don't know why its either or with some fans, you can have synergy between the young and middle aged players on the team.

I imagined it would be a fight to the death in a bloody pit, surrounded by wild animals and throngs of barbarians watching from the sideline.

No?

Synergy works too. :D

I have a feeling my thoughts would be much more succinct than that. Probably all of 4 letters. ;)

I'd be pretty choked if I were him. Here he is busting ass for a teammate, who's helping him out?

Was like the 6th goal against Dallas. Scheif is covering for the defense, and they are both down low and so he ends up with a 2-1 against him. What the heck is he supposed to do?

Part of this is on the guys and part on the coach. I'm glad I'm not Chevy and have to decide who I think is more at fault.

How in the **** can it be an either for this team? We need the vets and the young guys all playing well to have a hope of moving past 500.

Agreed.
PS-If Ladd is middle-aged, it means that I am nearly dead:laugh:

Yes, synergy between young and older lines and also within lines.
The best part of this game for me was Kane showing that he could 'play well with others'

MOnty did his job; he's a back-up. He grunted it out...they won against a sub-500 team. Whooped-di-doo!

Tomorrow....the lowly Sabres. Here's the thing: Troubs and Schief are getting better everyday and its clear that Little/Ladd/Wheeler are over-rated!

More ice time to the youth, please.

Clearly third line dreck at best.

Our 4th line is terrible right now.

I didn't think they looked bad at all in the first. Then they didn't get to play in the second apart from Wright on the PK and then they got thrown out cold in a very important moment in the game and got scored on and triggered the Columbus push for the final 10 minutes. Seemed like a very dumb coaching decision to me, they should have been playing more throughout the game in my opinion, especially on a back to back.

9-3-1 against the East.

Scheifele is taking a beating out there each night and is battling the hard way, right through it. He is earning his rewards, 100%. So impressed with the way his game is rounding out.

I agree wholeheartedly with this. Just about to post the Scheifele goal vid: watch Kane - he goes to shoot, hesitates, then makes the perfect pass to Scheif. Great stuff.
