I didn't see the whole game but I thought he could have potentially had both goals. Buff's giveaway on the second one was pretty brutal though. He should start more if Pavelec keeps having those 5 goals on 24 shots nights though.

Small sample size but Kane-Scheifele-Frolik looks good from what I saw of it, apparently it was like that for most of the game from what I hear.

Big picture. Scheifele is showing himself to be quite a player in the making. He is progressing on a trajectory that makes him a legit top 6 guy at a young age.

I didn't think Montoya made any big saves at all. But the team really kept the puck away from him.

We kept the poor play down to about 5 minutes in the third period but it still almost cost us the game. To have lost this one against a Columbus team that barely seemed to be going through the motions would have been the end of the season, as far as I'm concerned. Instead, it takes us to 12-4-2 outside our division.

MOnty did his job; he's a back-up. He grunted it out...they won against a sub-500 team. Whooped-di-doo!

Tomorrow....the lowly Sabres. Here's the thing: Troubs and Schief are getting better everyday and its clear that Little/Ladd/Wheeler are over-rated!

I can't see them not together again tomorrow. They were easily the best line tonight.
