I thought Lagesson was injured ? But honestly I don’t really know what is going on there.
Yes give him a shot. If he is available.

I’m not even worried about off-season buyouts or necessarily getting rid of Holl. If they want to park him in the press box or assign to GR…. Fine, it will play out in time.

My standpoint is we need to find a defenseman to insert in the lineup right now.
We don’t need a franchise altering trade.
Call the Griffins, trade a worthless pick for someone else’s AHL vet, Scour the daily waiver wires.
Holl is unplayable and if we are serious…. It should be addressed.
This is a bit dramatic. I don't think we should pass on the opportunity to upgrade him, but I also don't think it is the end of the world if we don't (especially considering our overall play as of late). The guys on the waiver wire will just be a different type of bad.

This was January 14th. It has gotten progressively worse since this. McLellan knows it’s a big problem and is probably begging for other options aswell. Even if they are far from perfect.

Unfortunately, the other option is Jeff Petry when he's healthy.

And I honestly like Holl better. Or maybe dislike him less is a better phrasing.

Look, he has obviously been bad. He can't complete a pass to save his life. The fate of this team, however, does not rest on the shoulders of a number 6 defensemen (due to injury) playing 12-14 minutes a night. Like I said, I find your take overly dramatic. We need to be making improvements further up the lineup, not to our #7 defensemen.

I voted to shelter him but by no means am advocating for him.

With a 95M cap next season we could easily bury him in the AHL which I would consider "sheltering" haha.

If he could be unloaded for low/no cost, I would prefer that. I definitely don't want to pay assets to make him go away though.

This thread is cause he gained the zone and ran into our own dude isn’t it… be honest.
That and missing an open net when the goalie fell down with 3 minutes to go in the game.

The zone entry was so stupid, Kane was practically begging him to give him the puck. So what do Holl do? Instead of passing to a HOF with great playmaking skills, he runs into him and turns it over instead.

You can get an asset out of JT at half retention.
That's what I'm worried about. Having to retain salary. As long as we don't have to send a second to offload him I guess it's ok if we get something in return. I just don't see tank being tradeable at all or holl.

If we can get a decent asset out of JT with retention, I'm fine with it.

Well when I go there to do that I don’t get anywhere close to 26 million

9 forwards signed at 46.5m, 5dmen at 19.6m, 1 goalie at 2.5m, Abby buyout $1m = 69.6m (assuming we're able to pay all kaners bonus this season)

95.5(projected cap for 2025/26)- 69.6 = 25.9m in cap space to sign at least 4 forwards, 2 Domen, and a goalie

Assuming cossa, and Danielson are up next year and possibly asp, that's roughly 22.5 to sign a dman and 3 forwards. Without trading anyone.

Maybe we give third or something to Sharks to take him. Most likely wave , he should help GR

Our odd man rushes have been terrible for a long time. I have been pointing out this for about 3 weeks now.
Last game it peaked as our odd man rush turn ped out in their 3 on 1 odd man rush. We didn't get a shot on goal, not even a B chance, we created an A chance for them.
Mclellan has to address this.

Holl getting an A chance to score is not a bad sign, it's a good one.

I wonder though, who signed Holl. Holland?

Holl had the most simple pass of all time to Patrick Kane at their Blueline with no one around him but instead carried the puck and crashed right into Kane, and let Boeser go down and absolutely rifle one. Fire to the sun
