Thinking this komd of attitude is what's casing issues on the ice. No way would except this as a team mate. Inwould be livid. No way he actually believes what comes out of his mouth...
Unfortunately he does. All the press around here tell Skinner he's just f***ing great. I was watching a game where Skinner didn't rob somebody once and yet basically every stop was described as a great save as if it was Ken Dryden stoning Phil Esposito with robberies. With Skinner its just shots fired right into his pads or logo right where he is. Didn't make a great save all night, but 6 pucks got by him. What a batting average. If Florida aren't missing net, flubbing shot or blowing a chance it was going in almost everytime they got a good shot off.

If it's this clear to us - imagine how clear it is to the guys that play in front of him night in and night out.

I've posted the stats a few times lately, but basically every time a bad goaltender gets replaced, teams improve not just in net, but offensively and defensively as well. Often by 0.5 expected goals both directions, give or take 25%.

The Avs earlier this year improved both offensively and defensively by about 0.7 xGoals per game, for example.

Good to see you by the way, how have you been?
I'm doing fine, thanks for asking. Been having trouble with the board since the migration, thats it mostly as well as taking some time off anyway. Been watching all the games and the 4nations. Was a reprieve not having to see Stewed Skinner in net for a couple weeks.

Knoblock should love him then.

Connor Brown should be forced to have PASSENGER on bold letters on his back. I wouldn't buy the jersey. The guy is absolutely floating the 2nd year in. People told me he was great and deserved to be here. His compete level is invisible.

Was told he was Hyman Lite.

He’s not even Dylan Mulvaney’s Bud Lite.

this picture speaks a lot of words. You know you’re absolute shit when even Draisaitl can’t hold back his disgust anymore.
Didn't see the ending, but this picture actually makes me really happy. If the players are even unhappy with the goaltending then maybe they'll actually make a trade for one?

Both of the last 2 goals are just bad and not goals you can let in late in a tied game if you want to win a cup. First was a pretty routine glove save (Skinner's glove hand is really bad), and the second was terrible initial positioning, incredibly slow reaction, and incredibly slow lateral movement by Skinner. Verhaege must have been laughing when he saw a wide open net in front of him. Didn't even have to try and raise it. Just slide it in before iceberg floats over.

Haha
I am still very positive about the team btw. Even now, I think we could use upgrades in lots of spots but the only weakness is in net. That one weakness can kill your cup chances

However the positive there is that this ultra critical position can be repaired with a single trade. It's not like repairing the offense or defense where it's lots of players and lots of factors involved, and chemistry factors. With goaltending it's just one guy all 60 minutes, and there's no chemistry concerns. They're just stat machines
I think they've quit on him. We've seen how they CAN play, but I think they're tired of chasing games. It has to be exhausting.

Here's my thoughts on goaltending. They need an athletic goalie who can come up with some big stops in close games. Doesn't matter if the guy is prone to the odd bad goal. We already get that with Skinner, but without any of the athletic "how did he save that" kind of saves.

I was honestly kind of against Binnington when I heard that chatter, but after his performance in clutch time for Canada, previous stretches of elite play, him being an athletic goalie who can make miraculous saves, and some of his underlying metrics on high danger chances/saves off the rush. I'd definitely be on board over what we have.

I mean berating yourself isn’t good. But I have heard him say before he suffers from mental health issues. But then he spouts sunshine and butterflies when he’s playing poorly. I don’t think not being honest with yourself helps in any event.

Idk, you also need to be honest with yourself though.

His effort tonight was worse than anything Campbell ever did, and it just keeps happening. Over and over. And over. And over.
