Color me totally and completely gobsmacked.

NO way I thought they could do this. Especially with Nash all but neutered as a player.

Win game 5 maybe game 6? Sure. Maybe. Ride the emotion and all. But to win last night. Game 7. Truly one of the special, very special moments in franchise history.

No way the Rangers have the better players in this one. But absolutely, they had the better team dynamic.

Amazing.

Does this team have better leadership since Cally was traded? I know we got quite a leader in St Louis in exchange, but is it addition by subtraction?

None of us are in the locker room and why even go there? You can actually appreciate something now without crapping on someone who played hard for the team and is no longer here.

I woud think so... MSL seems to not only be more vocal, but is also naturally smarter and more composed/poised compared the Callahan... Both lead by example in my opinion, but I think MSL is much, much better of the two.

I don't think Cally was ever the leader, even if he had the C

It became pretty clear to me that Richards and Lundqvist are the leaders, during the Torts drama

Totally agree. I just think our guys wanted it more. Amazing team effort.

Of course they're ecstatic, but that doesn't mean the scheduling isn't stupid?

Not only is it a day game, but a day game on Saturday? At least Sunday I somewhat understand, but Saturday, really? What gives. That's horrid.

I sincerely don't get it. What is difference between Saturday and Sunday?

Definitely not crapping on him. Was an honest question. I loved cally when he was here. It just seems like the team has a different heartbeat now.

Great post. I echo every single word of it. We do have faults but some posters act like other teams have no faults.

Pittsburgh had a lethal powerplay and where was it this series? People want to **** on Nash (including myself) but look how well we shut down Crosby and Malkin. Could you imagine if you just changed the sweaters and that Pittsburgh team was playing in Rangers uniforms? Those same detractors would say, "we need to be more like the Rangers. We don't have a Lundqvist that can steal us a game or two and that defense completely shut down our stars. Not to mention look how they were able to roll four lines and get offense from each one, we can't do that".

Frankly, I say we have the best & hottest goaltender of any team left in the playoffs. Lundqvist has been on fire. We have the 2nd best defense (arguments could be made for it being the best defense). We also have an offense that has size, speed, depth on all 4 lines, etc. We have as good of a shot as any one.

Excellent point. Rask and Price have not been good in their series. I'm not sold on Gibson/Andersen keeping this up, Quick has been okay, Crawford has been very good but not hot.

Funny how it's always "The other guy" who is at his best against us in a series.

Voracek instead of Giroux
Malkin instead of Crosby
Backstrom/Semin instead of Ovechkin

The Rangers must really, really focus on one player per opponent. They do a tremendous job of shutting down star #1, but star #2 tends to have a great series.

Wonder why they'd throw away a Saturday night game in Montreal/Boston? I don't know anything but surely money-wise or ratings-wise or whatever Saturday night is better than afternoon? I hope Don Cherry does afternoon HNIC

So proud of this team. I thought it was over after they way they played in game 4.

I would like to thank the fine country of Sweden and our Swedish posters for gifting us with the talents of Henrik Lundqvist. The king.

As for the next round, I'm not really sure who I'd rather face. Although the Bell Centre seems to be out boogyman, we just beat the Penguins for the first time in the playoffs and turned around a 3-1 deficit. I suppose anything can happen.

i will take full credit for that thank you :D

Dat 5-hole

The difference is you still have 1 more day to drink the hangover away before work starts again. hm...that didnt make sense at all since you will be hungover again...whatever, LGR!!

Just like the Bon Jovi song

Halfway there. We can debate the living on a prayer part latter.

8 down and 8 to go. At this point, it makes no difference how we got here. Or what is the sample size used to evaluate the team. Or who traded what for what. We will have plenty of time to debate and rehash all that in the off season.

What matters is where this team is now. They have shown me something in the last 3games that I did not think they had. The mental strength, fortitude and sheer grit exhibited was great to see. The product was something to be proud of as Rangers fans. Hopefully that carries itself for the second half of the playoffs.

All of the players sacrificed. That needs to be pointed out as it covers Nash as well.

I think that we can stop discussing Henke and his level of play. Better than Mike and for my money Eddie as well. Staal has showed why he is worth whatever the market value is. I could care less about his point totals. He can play on any top pairing in the league. Absolute beast. And I would rather overpay Boyle than underpay one 4th liner and then spend more money in the subsequent years trying to replace what Boyle brings. And the fact that his performance level rises in the playoffs cannot be discounted.

Even Richards. Big game Brad, huh?

People rah-rah that the team will get swept each new series. Then if you win it all it's labeled a fluke.

I remember Eagles and Cowboys fans congratulating the Giants on their "first playoff victory in 9 years" in 2011 wild card round, and "didn't count 2007 because it was a fluke"

That's what you're dealing with. Some fans can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. :dm:
