Hell
To add to all the other problems mentioned that hockey broadcasts have, they seem adamant on treating viewers like toddlers. They would never bring someone in to explain the game at a high level. The producers think the audience is stupid and that hockey is boring, and they need to compensate for it.

The mannings have football in their blood its crazy. Arch manning the nephew of Eli and Peyton is a star in college as a QB. Crazy

We deserve our own version of the ManningCast because nothing beats hearing ex-players call out the action in real time, sharing stories from the bench, and pointing out the stuff we all miss. It’d be like watching a game with a couple of guys who’ve actually been on the ice, breaking down the plays and giving us the unfiltered commentary we didn’t know we needed.

Watch this clip from last night
Football has a long pause after every play that lends itself to this type of commentary. Hockey is a game with few pauses. When would a panel talk? Or do they talk while the play is going on?

I'd just settle for a broadcast that seems to be interested in the game being played in front of them. A lot of these national guys give off the impression that they'd rather be anywhere else.
