Maybe Knight is really « breaking out » and will never look back?
It’s extremely refreshing to have games where we don’t let in one or two on the first 5-10 shots, if Knight can stay steady, I feel less nervous with him in the net than Fourgoalski with whom you never know if you get Vezina or Sieve.

Boqvist has more goals than Verhaeghe 🫣

J. Boqvist historically has been good finisher, but even for him 22,9 SH% is not sustainable long-term.

Knight had a 1.97 and .938 in his last 4 BEFORE tonight

Knight was really good for a little stretch at the start of the season, and he's been really good recently, and he just had that one absolutely horrendous patch in the middle when Bobrovsky was ill.

I don't think he is ready to be a starter, but it's encouraging.

Great to see him get the shutout. In his past 5 games now, he only had one game that wasn’t great and that was 4 goals against Montreal. Otherwise, he’s given up 2, 2, 1, and 0 in the other 4, along with 0 in the 3rd period against Detroit (though they had a solid lead and naturally wouldn’t be pressing as hard that period and focus on defending their lead). Certainly need more than just a 4 of 5 game sample size, but he’s looking good right now and should get the next start honestly. He’s got a whole 2nd half of this season to make his case, curious how the rest of his season plays out

But the timing seems to be perfect though for him if he has to become the starter in the next 2 years.

He could play more games for the test of the season and split 50/50 with Bob. Then go 50/50 again next year with Bob or maybe give him few more games depending of how thing goes.

So he would be slowly becoming the starter while still having Bob with him. So less pressure. And I think it would be good for Bob too as he’s getting older.

Then Knight will be 25, perfect age for a goalie to enter in his prime years.
