Post-Game Talk: We Blew a 3-0 Lead in the Third Period to the Oilers

When a coach loses the room it doesn't matter if you're Scotty Bowman. You're done. This core chasing away two coaches in two years is alarming. Starts to make me think it's not the coach or the message that's the problem.
As much as I hated Quinn, he was always half the problem. We bet on losing horses (zib, Panarin, Kreider and Trouba). Losers bread loser mentality

That was a million years ago.

I wouldn't bet on him winning one now.

His specialty is development and by the time development is achieved, his team is sick of him.

Also, his current team sucks ass so he might just be losing it too.
He won a cup, so that makes him a Cup winning coach, I don’t give a rats ass how long ago out was. And I’m not a big fan of his BS anyway but he did win a cup

He’s terrible. I honestly hate the way he plays Turnover after turnover. Like I said makes 15 bad passes and one finally gets thru and he’s a magician? Give me a break. Gets all his cookies on the pp next to a Norris winner a 50 goal net front guy and Mika ripping shots.

I would love to be rid of him. I mean that

No goals in 12 games and he was nowhere to be found after the second video review. Collecting a paycheck at this point

First one to post the GG post game interview gets 12 likes from me in a row.

No matter what you post.

I would prefer to hire a hockey coach who has coached hockey games to be our coach.
He coached Team Canada multiple times, and Marty St Louis is doing pretty well. When Messier steps in to the room his presence would demand respect, he's who brought us their only cup in 80 years. I'd see the players being a lot more fired up to play for him than for this slob who uses his tie as a napkin that we have right now. The NHL Award for leadership is literally named after him. I think he has that "it" factor and swagger, him with a real X's & O's assistant coach would be great.

The fourth line is okay. They hit and they score sometimes. We've had better teams with worse fourth lines than that. Carpenter in particular I think gets shit for a bad game or two in the preseason when he's basically the same thing as Kevin Rooney. And as much as no one should want to see Vesey and Goodrow in huge roles, coming on as extra attackers or in f***ing overtime whenever that was, they have been okay. There have been games, not today but a few, where sixth contract Harvard Jimmy is the only one who's moving out there. I don't think it's problems that come down to the roster construction on the bottom end.
Totally disagree. Jimmy has no speed, no grit, no offense, no skills- he’s dead weight on this roster. Plus he’s putrid away from the puck ms does not bring anything to the game.

Carpenter can’t penalty kill, is soft, generates nothing and is a far downgrade from Rooney because he contributes multiple things in each game that cost the team wins. Sometimes it’s penalties, sometimes it’s lost board battles, sometimes, like today it’s skating into a goalie. He’s terrible. The job of the fourth line is to go unnoticed in games. Far too often this group is noticeable for doing bad things- and Laf might as well be considered a 4th line guy too at this point.

Point being- it’s a brutal roster and no one should be shocked this team took major steps backwards this year. They simply don’t have the talent and the guys who they inserted into this lineup are not good.

I’ve watched the rangers pretty consistently since ‘97 and very few games are seared permanently into my brain

- Gretzky playoff hat trick against the panthers.
- The Avery rule
- 2012 winter classic
- Stepan game 7 winner
- Richards tying goal and Staal OT winner
- Zibanejad 5 goal game

- Alec Martinez gwg 2014
- 2008 5-goal collapse against the Canadiens
- Drury 7.7 seconds
- Henrique OT winner 2012
- This stupid f***ing game

Holding on to the puck trying to make the perfect pass with 20 seconds left ...

KAM's penalty in the 3rd got the ball rolling for the Oilers.
Turned into an avalanche.

The top unit needs a shakeup.

It's not just about "PLAAAYYY KAAKKKOOO!!!"

It sucks. We're down to 16th on the powerplay.
Panarin and Fox were shooting more, and Panarin potted one, just was 1/4inch offsides. They def won’t change it up yet.

I’m kind of done with Mika on the half boards, aside from his one timer he’s a liability on his off wing there

I really thought we were a pretty good team the first few weeks with the new lines and we were just having the worst luck.

Instead of riding it out, which an experienced, professional coach should do, Gallant panicked like a run of the mill HF poster, and put his favorite lines back together.

We've been a worse team since.
