I hope when they get to the room, if there is a blackboard, Rod punches it and it splits in two like my football coach did in high school once during halftime,

Aho’s line shouldn’t play another shift.

They’re the only line that decided this game didn’t matter.

Not another second.

I'm at the game. Between the other game I've been to this season and this, the Canes have given up 10 goals.

The takeaways:
1) I'm bad luck for the team.

2) I'm going to stop coming to games, both for the sake of our playoff chances and my sanity.

According to Moneypuck the Hurricanes had the edge in xG that period. (.86 to .83) The bad news is according to them they only have a .02% chance of winning this game.

Don't know if anyone has pointed this out in this GDT.
While it doesn't look good in this one, the Canes have an excellent chance to make the playoffs. Currently 87.3% at sportsclubstats. A loss will drop the chance to low 80s.

Nevertheless a strong "probability" playoff drive from the depths of early Jan (under 5%) !

Meanwhile Caps playing down to their opposition tonight. They play up and they play down - more of a Jekyll and Hyde team than usual :pullhair:

Might as well leave Mac in. We need Mrazek fresh for tomorrow.

Son of a bitch, this is a wasted opportunity.

Not even going to bother freaking out. Just hope they put in better effort the rest of tonight and come out with their hair on fire tomorrow.

This one is puzzling to me, but I guess when you've been playing with no margin for error for so long, eventually you're going to slip off the edge.

But still, Aho and Niederreiter minus-4, Pesce and Williams minus-3, Slavin and Faulk minus-2 and Hamilton minus-1.

I guess some regression was to be expected after how hot we've been, but I wasn't expecting this.
