And those two Cups are why I think DL deserves a chance to get things back on track, even though his decisions over the past few years have been suspect.

I love that Chicago had a 2 goal lead and 3 one goal leads, and we never led in that game 7. Yet we won. Epic.

YEah when rewatching the highlights, even the announcers mention how gigantic the momentum swings were all series. There was a point in game 2 where it looked like the Kings were just gonna roll over then they went nuclear.

At least we no longer have to look back on the Miracle on Manchester as our fondest memory. That's progress.

I got tired of seeing the Miracle on Manchester video trotted out every time the Kings made the playoffs.

I remember when Sharp scored right after Williams I thought it was over. Glad the team didn't think so.

Quick save on Seabrook in Game 2
Carter goal in Game 7
Gaborik goal in Game 7

Massive moments.

I don't think I'll ever see anything quite like Game 7 of that series again. Games 2 and 5 were great to be at also, the hockey was just surreal. Kings had a better squad than Chicago in 2014 though, the Hawks largely exploited one Kings line to get back in the series. It should have been over in 5 or 6.

Watched some highlights of the earlier games in the 2014 Chicago series. Carter was dominating.

2014 was one of the greatest playoff runs I've ever seen in any sport.

I respect your opinion and will almost agree. But I think 2012 was more special because it was our first Cup and we felt out dominated all 4 rounds. Knocking off the 1,2,3 seed in the West. All the game 7s in 2014 made it truly epic. Let's just be glad the Kings own 2 historic Cup runs. Who would've have thought? :handclap::yo:

Insanity.

The hockey world should be thanking us for preventing a Hawks dynasty. They would have been champs in 2010, 2013, 2014, 2015. Christ. Then again, they thumped us in 2013, though I'm not sure how much was left in the tank anyway.

People love to say had the Sharks not choked in 2014 the Hawks would have won 3 in a row but had Detroit not choked vs. Chicago in 2013 the Kings have a very good chance of winning that year. The Kings would have waxed Detroit, Boston would have been a challenge but the Kings would have been favorites.

Stoll's goal in OT that eliminated Vancouver in game 5 was one of my favorite moments.

It was like we finally got over the hump. This iteration of the Kings finally won a playoff series, and it was against the heavily favored President's Trophy winning Canucks in their own building. No one gave us a chance in that series. It felt so good to stick to that annoying arrogant fanbase.

2012-2014 playoff scoring:

Kopitar, 64, 16-39-55, .859
Gaborik, 26, 14-8-22, .846
Carter, 64, 24-27-51, .797
Williams, 64, 19-30-49, .766
Doughty, 64, 11-28-39, .609
Richards, 61, 10-27-37, .607
Brown, 64, 17-21-38, .594
Toffoli, 38, 9-11-20, .526
Pearson, 25, 4-8-12, .480
Penner, 38, 6-10-16, .421
Voynov, 64, 9-16-25, .391
King, 64, 10-14-24, .375
Muzzin, 43, 6-9-15, .349
Martinez, 53, 6-9-15, .283
Lewis, 64, 8-9-17, .266
Greene, 49, 2-10-12, .245
Clifford, 41, 1-8-9, .220
Stoll, 58, 5-7-12, .207
Mitchell, 38, 2-5-7, .184
Fraser, 34, 1-3-4, .118
Regehr, 26, 0-3-3, .115
Scuderi, 38, 0-4-4, .105
Richardson, 24, 1-1-2, .083
Nolan, 30, 1-1-2, .067

Quick, 64, 41-23, 2.01, .928

Basically everyone had at least one moment during those 3 years. Even the guys that barely scored. We remember Greene's SH goal against the Blues, Clifford against the Rangers, Fraser in Game 1 against NJ, Richardson to tie Game 5 in Vancouver, Nolan with the 1st goal in Game 4 against the Blues that started in the early afternoon. Regehr fought Burns at the end of Game 4. I guess Scuderi's was being hit into the boards, unless you want to count just quietly going about his business normally.

Favorite non goal moment was in the finals vrs NJD. Huge plays on the 5 on 3 kill, big save by Quick and just how feverish the crowd was. Still get chills

Cherish the Cup wins.

Folks complain endless about the current roster.

But think about this: At some point in the future, the Kings may have even a better roster on paper than the 2012-14 teams, and NEVER win a cup with that core.

Cherish the Cup wins !

Seriously.

For how long have the Washington Capitals been favorites? You think they would trade all the President's Cups for JUST ONE Cup?

Sharks fans have had a great team for a decade, and the closest they've come was just last year, getting slaughtered in the Final. How excruciating.

Most of us said before 2012 we'd take the suckage for just ONE cup. Well, two cups later, here we are. Embrace the suckage
