Boys were flying there the last 5-6 minutes.

Dallas is testing the defense. They are making the pass to the guy flying through the neutral zone and beating the defense around the outside.

Got to put more pressure on the puck in neutral zone

I agree that Reimer hasn't been inspiring a lot of confidence since Petr went down and Ned looked pretty competent in his start, but no way. Reimer is arguably just as good as Mrazek.

I disagree by a lot. Reimer numbers last year were better than Mrazeks but if you objectively watch the games Petr made stops on higher quality stops and made much more timely saves. Now James was really really good for us last year, but that was last year. This year he has more starts and even in his wins he has looked bad, really bad. He's the 3rd best goalie on the team right now and if he can't figure it out he needs to be treated as such. Thats the tough part of being a GM or head coach in sports. Sometimes you gotta demote the good guys that have given it their all because they are no longer the best option for the team.

Example tonight the bar and bad shots are the only reason we are not down 2 or 3 goals

Damn Jordo Staal has become the best passer in the league. Crazy stuff. I always defended him for his possession, and physical play but adding this type of passing game just nuts

Best passer? No. But very good passer? Yes. This is the Jordo that NHL fans got to know and love behind Sid and Malkin. Getting Trocheck not only gave us a 2C, but as a consequence, the single best 3C in the NHL.

Plenty of fanbases have doubted Reimer but he puts up very respectable numbers wherever he goes and he's literally the consummate professional goaltender in the mould of Curtis McElhinney but way more experienced AND talented at the same age. He also has better career numbers than Mrazek. No sane coach is throwing that away for Nedeljkovic.

I could be a bit off here, but this is not how I remember Staal playing in Pittsburg. Shutdown guy? Yes. Timely goals,? Yes. Facilitator? Not that I remember.

If you are watching the games this year he is just not where he needs to be. I'm not saying cut trade or send him down but if he doesn't figure it out soon he needs to be behind Ned.

Also if he keeps up this play his number won't be good for long

You got to give Ned credit, though. He looked sharp the last game for someone that hasn't played in months in any league. Reimer's getting underrated again because of recency bias.

I mean literally everything you say could be 100% correct and he's still more qualified than Nedeljkovic.

Ned looked fine. He also looked small. When he got beat on the penalty shot (and I know a lot of guys would, it was a good move) his leg was about three zip codes away from the post. It would be nice to have a bigger goalie who might have a chance to make that save.
