Its sort of funny that the best officiated series by a mile so far has been Pit/Nyi...who'd have ever felt that going in

One of the most physical series I've ever seen. This could easily go to 7. And I don't see how either team will have much gas for the Avs next round.

MIN might have some gas in the tank if they draw the Avs given their voodoo vs COL

MAF has gotten better with age. Wouldn't surprise me if he played until he's 50. Dude is 36 and plays like he's 18.

Like yours didn't? Bro that final 5 minutes both sides were hooking, holding and tripping constantly. Kap just happened to commit the most blatant one right in front of a ref. It happens.
There was a BLATANT holding the stick where Kap had to yank it out of the Vegas player right in front of everyone's eye. No call. If you're not gonna call blatant penalties for one team then don't call them for the other.

Pens fan here -- no dog in the fight. Watching only because I love MAF.

Absolutely, 100% tripping and I'm shocked anyone is arguing or insinuating otherwise.

So there just shouldn't have been any penalties then?

Have to say, that was an obvious trip, and Kaprizov deserved to go to the box according to the rules. I think the consternation for a lot of fans is coming from the fact that the refs haven't been calling the rules. Really, that's nothing new, and it's always worse in the playoffs, but it can be frustrating, especially when they finally make that call with under 2 minutes left.

Anyway, the Wild were good in the 1st period, but got worse as the game went on. It was really a mirror of last game, the game had the exact same story line, but the teams were swapped around. The Wild deserved to win game 1, and the Knights deserved to win game 2.

No, there should have been. Unfortunately, Vegas is immune while my team is not. Do you understand yet?
Hahaha okay. Vegas took 2 penalties to Minny's 3 but we're "immune." okay bud.

So last game, when Minnesota got away with a hold and a hook about every 15 seconds the five minutes before OT and Vegas got a penalty in OT that swung momentum in the Wild's favor before the game winner, you know what I said? I complained a bit about how the refs swallowed the whistles in the third and the penalty they called in OT was a lot milder than the shit they were letting go but I concluded that the loss wasn't on the refs, it was Vegas' fault for not scoring one goal on 40 shots.

Grow up and take the L like a grown ass adult. Vegas had one more powerplay than Minnesota. It's not like they were fed opportunity after opportunity the whole game and as I said, both sides got away with a lot, just like they did in Game 1. Throwing a tantrum about it won't change the series tie.

Funny. You're a mod sitting here antagonizing a clearly pissed off poster. Get real.

Well that's how it felt taking a legit but not egregious penalty in OT after the refs swallowed their whistles in the third period.

You interpreting my words as an intent to antagonize is frankly not my problem since it wasn't. I think the idea that Vegas is immune from penalties is absurd and an all too easy cop out for other fans who can't handle a loss. If we had to swallow page after page of neutral and Sharks fans telling us we can't blame the loss on the refs when our PK let us down when we lost to San Jose in 2019, I don't see why my name being a different color means I can't tell people the same thing.

Explain why the holding the stick on Kaprizov (clear as day) wasn't called. There were several what appeared to be elbows to the heads of players too. Only one called was Cole. How about Pietrangelo being a mega douche with his cross check to Kaprizov after the whistle? Dumba grabs him and proceeds to have two Vegas players put him to the ice and one has their elbow pressing his head against the ice. Resulted in matching minors to Pietrangelo and Dumba.

I'm not saying that Kaprizov shouldn't have been called for tripping. I'm saying that if you're gonna call our blatant penalties then you better damn well call them both ways. Otherwise you are 100% tilting the ice so one team has to play a certain way while the other doesn't.

You're gonna sit there and complain about elbows to the head and cite what Pietrangelo did in the same block of text and not mention Dumba's elbow on the same sequence?

Again. Both sides got away with a lot. Both teams have now gotten a timely powerplay after the multitude of those infractions went uncalled. Both teams secured a w with the help of those powerplays. Go count how many Vegas fans threw a tantrum about it and declared Minnesota "immune" from discipline in the game 1 thread and get back to me. Or I can save you the trouble and tell you you won't find any.

Your team had a powerplay opportunity (and a 4 on 4 that your team almost entirely controlled) and 30+ shots to tie the game and our goalie slammed the door shut when it mattered just like yours did in game 1. That's playoff hockey.

IMO you have to call that trip. It was bad and as obvious as day.

Vegas is doing a great job shutting down KKs entire line for the most part.

That said, I will be looking to him next game. He probably is starting to get pissed and might pop off a goal or two finally.
