Skinner in?

Well I'm all for the next gm hiring his own coach anyways.

100% fireable offense if we lose and skinner has anything less than 0.900 save percentage and honeslty I'm being generous. We need 0.915 to be competitive long term.

Pickard has looked sharper. But a Stu redemption story would be nice. Stu delivered a 1GA performance and a Shutout performance in round 1 in his rebound performances. Likely Knob is hoping for that kind of rebound.

Knob was right to swap to Picard for the past 2 games. Let’s hope he’s right here too.

wtf is this bs!? Pickard posts above 0.900 BOTH games and skinner over there
Hold on I figured it out, Skinner goes in and we score 3+ goals because we know we need goals, the moment we take the foot off the pedal Pickard goes in net to keep us in it.

Keep switching depending on what we need.
right, and that couldn’t possibly be because they switched up the mine combos.

Henrique, Carrick, and Stecher. Traded away picks including the 1st in 2024 for the bare absolute minimum. Just further adds of how awful even more Holland was on Trade deadline.
Yeah not sure how anyone can defend that deadline. Look what other teams added

It honestly feels like this organization isn't interested in success. Katz buying the team was the worst thing to ever happen to this franchise and ramped up the old boys country club nepotism to 100.

Qualifications and accountability need not apply.
revenue sharing is the worst thing in my humble opinion, closely followed by networking with online gambling for proceeds

If Skinner sucks then these A holes who made this beyond belief decision should escorted to the stadium door, thrown out on their dumb asses, and never be allowed back in Alberta again. Unless Pickard is injured this is insanity

2 WINS INCOMING. Team will need all support it can get.

Time to man up now Oilers fans, stop the whining, and get behind your team.

Are we gonna go “GO PETEY GO” at the game or “f*** Skinner”? You decide how our fanbase wants to look compared to the Nucks fanbase.

Mind you, I wasn't really a fan of trading for Henrique either. Team needed a top 6 scoring winger at least since Holland failed to acquire a top four d man, and I find Henrique at this stage of his career with his age + skating to be more so of a top 9 forward. Not good enough with those 3 trades. Holland's an absolute failure.

I dont think Knoblauch even makes the choice on goaltending honestly.

Schwartz making calls?

Anyways, I’m pulling for Skinner to have the biggest game of his career, because it is.

The decision on its face seems utterly baffling though based on merits.

This team has risen to the occasion in big moments this season and they need to do it right now.

Let’s go Oilers!!

Well...I see the logic in it but agreeing with it is another thing all together.
This suggests to me that they plan on running with Skinner as the starter next season as well.
The three goals Pickard let in last game were not good goals. Skinner is the better goalie but I don't have a lot of confidence in him bouncing back.

I understand the logic of you go with your best guy in an elimination game.

So Skinner rocks a .795 save percentage, by far the worst of any goalie in the playoffs. basically gift wrapping Van 2 games that we should have easily won. Knobby does what Woody could not do last year and pulls him and puts in the backup.

Pickard wins a game, then stands on his head in a great performance while the rest of the team played shit the bed. So you figure now? In an elimination game? Is a good time to put Stu back in? After Pickard just outplayed him badly for two games?

What is wrong with this organization?? Its like they have loyalty to players just for the sake of having loyalty no matter how badly your performing. Win or lose we are going to lose with this guy cause he played well all season. Im sorry but this is not how stanley cup teams operate.

I bet Skinner lets in 4 goals tonight and 2 of them are terrible. So lets hope we score 5. Likely this decision will be the final nail in the coffin though. Its gonna be a long summer. Jays blow.

You already know Rogers Place will be cheering their asses off for Skinner and the Oilers. My main concern is Skinner potentially giving up a stinker of a goal and deflates the fans and team.

They weren’t good goals but weren’t bad goals either. Picard played well. Maybe you’d like that 1GA, since it was a straight in shot without a tip, but there was a screen there. 2GA was a f*** up by Bouch but maybe you want calmer legs by Picard there. 3GA is team defences fault, and Picard had no chance.
