How could anyone watch the first round and come away with "Nashville is so much better than LA"

The delusional takes in this thread. LA was better than the Canucks in the regular season... The Oilers have been historically dominant against Nashville.

Regular season means nothing and I think recent playoff experience is the much better measuring stick.

Hope the business owners on Granville have insurance for the mouth breathing neanderthals that riot when they get bopped in 5 games.

There will probably be 10 goals scored each game. This matchup just screams all offense, leaky defense. Will be fun to watch.
?

The Canucks have an incredibly structured defensive system. I suppose it is possible with a third string goalie in for the Canucks, but I feel like the Canucks are going to frustrate the Oilers quite a bit.

The Canucks are not a run and gun offensive team at all.

Will be interesting to see VCR's defensive structure, grit and Cinderella goaltending against one of the best offenses in the NHL. The Oil have just enough D and G to make a run, and I see them prevailing.

Because the regular season doesn't mean anything. The avs just smacked the jets around despite losing the regular season series. Canucks also without Demko.
So far that is the only series where the team with the worse regular season record has advanced. Why use the exception vs the trend?

Obviously Oilers are the favourites. But we match up well with those guys. It’s gunna be a close competitive series for all y’all saying the Oil are gunna steamroll us. Pressure is all on them to win now. We shall see what happens.

Nashville is a much better team than LA. And Vancouver beat them in six. If Edmonton versus Nashville faced off Edmonton would lose.

Start preparing your “if Demko wasn’t hurt the Oilers lose this series” posts now.

Since we’re just making shit up - the Oilers would have swept the Preds.

P.S. What’s your plan for the Flames draft party?

Canucks love to take penatlies and the refs love to gift oilers powerplays.....oh man

This is true, tocchet will not question a ref, and does not want his players doing it. Some fans think it works but it does not. They walk all over van, and you are 100% right. If questioning the refs didnt work you wouldnt see Paul Maurice or John cooper questioning them. The zebras love to call a tocchet game, wont get much flak from vc.
