4-minute penalty missed

Potential major missed. At the least, it should have been 2 minutes for boarding.

A minimum of 6 minutes in penalties missed.

Lol at the 'boarding'. What exactly was Hughes expecting in that situation? The guy needs to brace himself better if going for the puck in a dirty area. Nurse could have destroyed him there ..

Edit: EP not Hughes

Sure, but you always gotta consider the source.
Everyone saw the hand pass and the trips by Canucks players the same way everyone saw the high-stick by McDavid.

Missed calls on both sides, but it’s par for the course.

Fortunately, the better team won both games anyways.

I'd say there is about 40% more room out there compared to Nashville. The points are wide open.

Tocc will probably focus 100% on shutting down McDrai. And let the secondary scoring do the offense.
Tocc probably tried throttling down the match-up game this time because he thought he could since McD didn't get a shot last game. Let's get back to not allowing Mcd to have shots

A minimum of 6 minutes in penalties missed on only two calls.

Not boarding, that's a perfectly normal hit against a perfectly normally positioned opponent. How could Nurse predict Pettersson would go head first against the boards instead of falling properly? You can't look at the starting position and tell me that Pettersson shouldn't be eligible to be hit.

VAN only won because of Skinner..
Those were some horrible/ low danger/ own goals in game 1.
Silov let in stinkers too but Skinner was on a different level.

Yeah why didn't Hughes try and fight mcdavid then? At the end of the day canucks fans are pissed because mcdavid can cut Hughes up and bully him and he isn't able to do shit. McDavid is 6'2" and built like a bull. Hughes would end up bleeding even more.

Literally nothing Hughes could do. Lol he didn't even try to lay a clean hit on mcdavid all game afterwards.
Ah yes. As if fighting would have accomplished anything.

Thanks to McD's intentional axe job to Hughs face, Canucks players will probably try that much harder to bruise up Draisitles soft back.

Lol lot of good that did. Drai is basically immune to pain. Hughes on the other hand was about to cry on the bench. Literally couldn't do a single thing.

Fight the Chad mcdavid that just cut you open IN FRONT of the refs? 😂 And didn't get a penalty? Everyone was scared. Didn't know he was such a straight cold gangster.

Great game. Back and forth. Shame my Canucks lost but it wasn’t gonna be an easy series to win.

Everybody just making themselves look bad with the crying and complaining.
McDrai had the most epic game of the ages according to the pro Edm national media. And yet Vancouver brought it all the way to overtime and the Oilers won it on a coin flip.

Plus the law of averages was pushing hard against the Canucks. As if we were never going to lose to the Oilers. Season sweep and playoff sweep. Nope. That's crazy talk.

There's sure a lot of Canucks fans arm chair coaching and dooming like usual. The team board is almost unreadable after any loss.

As if it is possible to never lose games. The 85 Oilers lost playoff games. It happens.

Can somebody post a gif of chad McDavid flopping like a queen after 5 foot 9 Nils Hoglander lightly hit him ? And yes , he drew a penalty. That was the worst call of the night.

I think there is no point discussing reffing fails.. no side is going to convince the other. Players/coaches have agreed that it's a tough job and a lot was missed ...time to move on..
I am sure no ref is willingly taking one side over the other or is out to get certain teams. They just miss stuff
are you sure?

once the play is stopped and a player is bleeding to the face after just getting carved up with a high stick the 4 blind mice need to do what is correct, moral and ethical and that is have a conversation as a group of 4 and communicate and get it right...THIS IS SO f***ING SIMPLE! it goes something like the next paragraph...

Hey, did anyone see how Hughes' face got carved up?, ya, 97, high sticked him in the face. Okay so instead of penalizing vancouver and hughes by telling hughes he needs to leave the ice as a result of the fact that 97 carved up his face with a stick and drew blood...we are going to call a double minor on 97, 4 minute penatly and Hughes needs to sit for one tick of the clock or until his bleeding is under control...

I agree that the players, coaches and teams need to move on...

however the NHL and the 4 zebras last night need to STOP, evaluate the failures of the league and the officials in this game. They then need to have the 4 zebras attend an evaluation of their performance, be informed of the things they did correctly and incorrectly then be sent for additional training and if necessary suspend or discipline them. Tell them their season is done and find a new group that can call the game in such a way that Player Safety matters, even if it is just a tiny little bit...

that would be an improvement over the crew of 4 from last night who did not give a rats ass about player safety

Unfortunately, Bettman and his crew likely look at that game and applaud the officials for its efforts to confuse the f*** out of everyone about what the rules of hockey are and are not.

They didnt do that when Hyman was clearly highsticked.

Atleast they're being consistent.

okay, do explain how what Nurse did after this hit was not a penalty then? he skates over to 40 after 40 got up and skates away and Nurse smacks him in the head for no reason and 40 does not have the puck...

He completely g checked Quinn Hughes didn't get a penalty dead eyed Hughes after and then made the Canucks give him a penalty. Oh and he got the tying goal and setup the winner.

The Canuck brain cannot even comprehend.

He gets a standing ovation for getting a shot on net. That's an improvement

Im looking for it.

Anyone else know where we can find the footage of 5 foot Hoglander dropping 6 foot Mcdavid with a light hit ?
The only penalty Hoglander has gotten was for hitting Derek Ryan.

So you'll be looking for a long time to find one on McDavid that resulted in a penalty.
