Yes, but Mikheyev was playing a lot better over that first chunk of the season (10G / 10A in 32 GP) and say what you want about Kuzmenko, but Pettersson has played well with him. Mikheyev has subsequently fallen off a cliff and I still don't think Hoglander is a true top-six winger. However you want to configure it, Pettersson needs to play with better players, and at this point ... Lindholm is a better top-six center than Pettersson.

I agree and that's why Pettersson is playing on Lindholm's wing right now instead of the other way around. If you had instead the January version of Pettersson, it's the other way around. Which is what they tried to do early in Lindholm's tenure.

Getting the absolute best out of Pettersson is about getting him back to his optimal position (C) and giving him good wingers. For now, at least Lindholm is a legit top6 player. It will have to be enough.
