I hate how they always turn it on when they get down. We've lost way to many games this post season from not showing up to start. Almost as frustrating as all the ****ing posts.

Just not a good start again. Kings should have a goal, but they don't. 40 minutes to go and they are probably going to need three goals to win.

Yes would be nice to have a true finisher among our group of stonehands.. #freetoffoli.

i would say the kings had a better period when it was 5 on 5.
more quality chances all around.

Since the 5 on 3 the sharks really haven't done much. They had one good chance, and the Kings have pretty much take n the play with their forecheck and created more chances

Not a big deal, Kings look good.

Just took a bunch of stupid fouls to start.

Just need Quick to keep it to two goals against, I think the Kings win this game.

If we keep playing like that, we have a good chance of winning this hockey game. Not going to win without scoring a couple of goals anyway. We still got this.

Why 3? Unless you are expecting another 5 on 3. Even strength the sharks have done jack

Kings look really good. If we stay out of the box the only goal in the first will be the last for the sharks. We have been good and Kopitar did a spin shot, that says he is into it. I'm feeling good.

My mistake on the Kopitar penalty. Missed the sequence and didn't realize it was a DOG call. Thought it was on his hit (or lack thereof). My apologies.

Kings were able to get Kopitar out there the last few shifts against Thornton, and Thornton did nothing, in fact the Kings had a prime scoring chance that Clifford blew.

Not only is Kopitar better defensively, it opens up Penner-Richards-Carter to do something offensively, as opposed to being pinned down in the defensive zone.

Was anyone else yelling when Thornton was so wide open on that 5-on-3? I was like "some ody mark that guy!"

Carter over played that play expecting the puck to go back to the point, leaving enough room for the pass to Thornton. Anyone's gonna bury that when left that wide open

Yep. Carter should have stayed down low. If the point guy gets the goal, fine, but you can't allow the back door empty net goal. It sucks because he played it correctly the first time and then left him alone the second time and it was in the net. The kings just couldn't clear it.

Kopitar/Richards do just fine, They Sharks have scored what Five ES Goals all series ?

Stay out of the box.

I didn't yell, but I knew that as soon as Thornton parked his ass right next to the net, they were gonna score. On cue, someone (was it Carter?) bit on Pavelski's fake pass attempt and as soon as the puck got to Thornton, it was 1-0 Sharks.

Anyways, decent first period. I really hope the four post-jobs don't crush the Kings confidence. It didn't really look like it did, but you never know.

If the Kings continue playing as they did in the 1st, and stay out of the box, they can win this game. Three posts, sustained pressure in the Sharks' zone, quick exits out of their own end, carry them over and it'll result in goals.
