I don’t know if the coaching staff coached the skill out of our forwards or they just stopped playing like that.

Theirs just no high end skill or plays from the forwards. Chip, chase and pass to the point. Point shot from Hughes. Repeat.

Other teams have figured it out

It's a conservative system where they take what's given. If there isn't a high percentage play they fall back and maintain possession rather than give up something the other way.

Of course, it only works when you play defence and don't give up waffles like last game. We can still score 3-4 every game vs Skinner anyway.
