2. It was shoulder to shoulder contact.


The result was unfortunate, but I'm sorry, that's a clean hit. Sometimes, guys can get injured or shaken up on clean hits, and that's what happened there.

It’s technically legal under the rules but if the league was serious about CTE they’d go after head contact more than they do

It’s the right call to not give the major based on the way the rules are written but I can’t stand guys with reckless disregard for other players heads like that

As someone who isn't a particularly big fan of Jamie Benn, that's a clean hit. Keeps his elbow tucked in, drives into the shoulder and the follow through doesn't go through the head. Any head contact is from him falling into Johnston, plus whiplash.

Literally the only argument you could make is that he left his feet but that's a total stretch. People seeing Toews being hurt rather than what actually happened.
