“People think we are a 2 player team…”

You indeed are a 2 player team lol. One of the worst 5 on 5 teams I’ve ever seen. Just can’t play even strength hockey.
Did you even follow the series? I know your team was out of the playoffs halfway through the regular season so I don't blame you if you did. The oilers bottom 6 drove play all playoffs and their third line was the most consistent all playoffs. McDavid and Skinner were the guys who didn't show up despite being our MVPs in the regular season.

We had depth scoring all thoughout the last half of the regular season so you're just wrong on that.

And how can you blame McDavid for that?

I didn't.

You said all the Oilers needed was a good goalie.

Vegas didn't need a good goalie. They had a back up in almost the entire series. So clearly the Oilers need a little more than just a good goalie.

They need to play a style of hockey that is suited for the playoffs. But they won't change. Why?

Wasn’t that what was said when they lost to Colorado last year?
Yup it was... And unlike Canucks Oilers came out stronger and had a great regular season and very respectable playoffs ..

Cup isn't a guarantee for any team even if you have McDavid or a Kuzmenko.

We're really about to see a Seattle - Vegas Conference final.

I dont know if I should be laughing at the west or the NHL for having 2 expansion teams be the best in the conference.
laugh at Edmonton with the 2 greatest players in the league for losing to an expansion team

I don't know if you could blame the Oilers for the Campbell contract. Dude had seemed reasonably competent for a few years before crashing from .914 to .888 when he joined the Oilers.

It's not like the Matt Murray trade the leafs made where everyone on the planet knew it was awful when it was made.
I think some of us saw it coming with how Campbell ended his time in Toronto.

When we lost to Colorado we lost to a better team.

Dunno, doesn't feel like Vegas is a better team.

We had a shiitier coach who insisted on putting in an obviously shell shocked goalie.

Ekholm was a step in the right direction but not sure why anyone, the press or the fans, thought that was enough.

The issue has always been overall depth, which doesn't stack up to any cap era cup team, let alone pre-cap history.

for those who wondered, McDavid did rush off the ice for the last empty net goal, he was not credited with a minus. Leon took that last minus like a man though!

The handshake line respect was pretty evident, I guess you guys took that from Toronto this year. But they actually regressed and won less games in the post season

Will gladly take that as an Oilers fan.
Getting to round 2 is a privilege.. will take this over the decade+ darkness

Amen, only 8 teams make it out of the first round every year, I’ll take that over them missing the playoffs all f***ing day. Only 1 team goes home happy at the end of the season, nothing to be ashamed of.

Adin Hill played great, really all series since coming in for LB. People can toss his name out like it's an insult but he deserves his props. He's among the leaders in the postseason now in SV% and GAA.
