Regardless, I really don't think a goal like that is going to turn the tide of the series. **** like that happens all the time.

The Oilers are not butter soft. That goal is not going to cripple them. If Anaheim wins the series it's not going to be because Talbot let in one soft goal.

And this series should be tied 1-1 If not for Talbot so let's just give it up.

Yeah enough about this. The team is starting to play hockey they are better than these guys.

beautiful goal by Mcdavid, we need to keep pushing in the third and kill the Ducks pp coming soon because you know they will get a pp early in the third.

Don't see how that excuses a terrible goal at a backbreaking time. Talbot has been our rock, but that doesn't put him above criticism.

Sure criticize him. But the guy has claimed that if Anaheim wins the series he will point to that goal, but yet fails to note that the only reason we are up 2-0 is because of him. Completely ignore the fact that Talbot bailed us out last game. The team needs to win one for Talbot, it's a two way road.

ya. i hope he can step up even a little. if he's injured or sick then just don't play him. but if he's just slumping the only way to get out of it is to move your legs and work hard. he's not doing any of that. oh well, he'll be gone by the summer anyways.

I wish people would stop having an excuse for Ebs.

We are playing a hell of a lot better then we did in the first period . Wish we had this intensity to start the game.

Nerves. Just imagine being one of the young guys on the ice that have never seen this before. They are starting to focus and the crowd noise is silent to them now.

Oh, fair enough. We absolutely owe Talbot a bailout. That goal though, so rough.

Some guys out there need to get a bit more greedy. McDavid, Sekera and especially Drai all passing up on prime shooting chances in order to pass off to a guy in inferior position.

What a game by RNH. Poor ******* can't buy one though. If you aren't impressed by RNH tonight then I think you don't know much about hockey.

It wasn't a fluke, it was a bad play.
It was a fluke because 99/100 times Talbot stops that or elects to watch it sail wide. That's the definition of a fluke.
I feel like giving up on this board sometimes the way some posters just rip players apart like they are supposed to be perfect or something.
Talbot is getting out dueled tonight. It happens. The man has more than held up his end all season long.

I've wanted to see Nuge-Draisaitl all season for extended periods, whenever they've been together it's been magic. Nugent Hopkins is a ppg so far in this series and has been unreal all playoffs, it's really nice to see. If he starts catching some breaks, look out. I'd like to see them put him on the 1st unit PP, I don't care who's on the 2nd unit. Load them up, Nuge can play the point with Klefbom.

And that's the problem he's not getting the puck in the neutral zone so it's not happening for them. Double shift McDavid for the setup or something because one of them needs to carry it in. Eberle can too but he's not a confident player right now.

TBH even the first unit has been making this mistake occasionally. Lucic should only be touching the puck if it's a tip or a rebound. Letestu should only be touching the puck if it's a one-timer or a faceoff. Liabilities otherwise.

gotta look to the future too, Talbot probably wouldn't be very happy to get pulled after a deflection goal and after the team gave up a huge breakaway to start the game. Coaching staff wants to show Talbot he's our guy - we need him going forward so let him work through it

So I have faith Talbot will be better but those saying he won us the game last game it means nothing if we lose this one because of soft goals lol

It was a **** goal yes. But the guy who is going to blame Talbot for the series if they lose is ridiculous.

If the Oilers can't put their big boy pants on and win this series it's because of the inability of the team, not one guy.

As much as I love Letestu for his power-play one-timer, his zone entries are deplorable.

it was a deflection, **** happens. The team owes him one.

The Wagner goal? That wasn't a deflection. Talbot just misplayed it. I'm not mad at him for it but it was just a really bad time to lose focus.

this this this. Talbot has been consistent enough that nobody should worry.
