About Michigan goals? They take a lot of skill to attempt, and not even every NHLer can unless you give him all day (in which case he's probably better off just skating it from out below the goal line for a better look). I don't hold this opinion strongly, but I consider them generally a bad idea to try, part of which is for that reason, as well as the fact that the best way to defend one for a defending player (other than the goalie) is to skate in and smash into the attacking player with a huge body check.
