They've got some decent play by play guys if you can stomach Doc Emrick but Pierre Mcguire, Brian Engblom, Jeremy Roenick and Mike Milbury are there just about every damn game and are all awful. Not to mention part-timers like Brian Hayward and Darren Pang. Get rid of them. If you want to grow the sport in America get some likable people on the screen, not just some dumb knuckle-dragging former players or OCD weirdos with Aspergers.

I could not agree with this post any more. It's not just Hayward. Some of them are okay but most are just plain boring to listen to.

There are a lot of people who claim to not care about the pbp or commentary but I would love to see a new crop of hungry and talented broadcasters take the reigns. I think some new and exciting voices could really help to grow the game.

I still can't believe they dumped Penner to start their youth. Penner has his issues, but Kings having to deal with his size would make shutting down Getz/Perry that much more difficult.

And to be honest, Hayward hasn't even bothered me very much.

Keith Jones is by far my favorite analyst on NBCSN though. The guy is on point every time. Fantastic analyst.

I'd rather have Brian Engblom than Jimmy Fox and if you think Keith Jones is any good, you'd change your mind if you heard him on Flyers' broadcasts. Of course, absolutely nobody compares to the Pittsburgh tandem of Steigerwald and Errey; they're in a whole different universe. That's why you never, never ever hear of them being asked to do any kind of national broadcast.

And the Danger Duo from Pitt did a few games on VS. a long time ago.
 
OT from tonight's game but I miss the version of Bob Cole from the early 80's to the mid 90's. Brings back some great memories with my dad watching HNIC on a cold Saturday night in December.

Cuthbert is excellent.

Anyhow, big one tonight but we got this. I thought Schultz did a good job in Game 3 replacing RR. Just continue to keep it simple.

What did Dustin say about this in Game 1? It was something to the effect of it doesn't matter, just 5 more minutes of prep then we play normal anyway. It's like he's trying to overcoach/think to prove he's doing something.

Me too. The talent pool really diminishes once you get past the A Team that calls all the east coast/ NBC prime games. This is even a better reason to keep the local guys through the second round. Our series gets the D Team and it shows.

The difference between us being down 2-0 against the Sharks and the Duck being down 2-0 is quite striking. They are frustrated [including BB] and pissed off and are just moments away from completely falling apart imo. I never once saw our guys rattled like at all, even after going down 3-0.BB is once again not making smart decisions even if it just mind games.

Nope, all you heard was them saying they have been in this type of situation before, and that they need to get better, and they were confident they could win. Oh, and that they would not go quietly. That's what seperates championship teams from pretenders. The poise and confidence. The Kings have it. The Sharks didn't, and it's starting to feel like the Ducks don't either.
I'm going to say you started seeing the frustration when Getzlaff, their captain and leader, threw his hands in the air when Gaborik scored with 7 seconds left in game 1 to tie it.
 
Is there an alternative channel if the Habs / bruins game runs long on nbcsn?

TV info in case Bruins-Habs game goes long: L.A./Anaheim markets on cable start of the Ducks-Kings game on NBCSN as scheduled.

Fans outside L.A./ANA market and fans in L.A./ANA market watching on satellite the start of the Ducks-Kings game will be on NHL Network.
