Watched the highlights a few times now just to make sure it wasn’t just a dream 😆
A few things:
1. Kudos to the coaching staff for putting Zadarov in front of the net on the game tying goal. Both Nashville players were covering Big Z which left Boeser free to work his magic.
2. Hughes is such a warrior. Was targeted all game and then in the last 3 minutes helped orchestrate both goals. Kids got heart!
3. Still trying to figure out how Lindholm was so alone in front for the OT winner. Looks like O’Rielly left his man to go behind the net. Not the guy you’d expect to make such a huge defensive mistake.
Edit: Just watched the OT goal again. Ian Cole comes in from the point and Lindholm pretends that he’s going back to the point cover for him but then instead drifts back to the front of the net and no one sees him. Smart play!

If you want to sum up Nashville yesterday....

At least this happened in our 48-point campaign... btw, Thanks to San Jose for beating this shit of a season. ;)

Yeah. Not sure how anyone could blame Saros on that goal or the OT one.
He actually did really well to stop Boeser from scoring on the first attempt there.
Made the first save and got a piece of the second one. 3 of his teammates meanwhile ended up on their face on the ice for some reason so none of them could do anything about either shot.

This was my conclusion. It took awhile but in the last few minutes they clearly had a game plan and executed it perfectly, and Nashville didn't know what hit them.

The strategy was to funnel the puck towards the net and create chaos as evidenced by putting Zadorov in front of Saros. This isn't figuring Nashville out, its just a breakdown and poor execution by a Nashville team that probably got a little ahead of themselves. The game plan worked and Vancouver deserves props but you can clearly see this is abnormal defense by Nashville.

Abnormal D? They were lost. They lacked discipline and played chase the puck instead of their assignments.

2 Preds go down in attempts to block Miller's shot/slap pass, which still manages to get through to Saros, Boeser corrals the rebound, and that was all she wrote!
Yea 2 players on the same side of the ice left their feet. Seems like a no-no to me. On top of the Pred who stumbled going out to challenge the point prior to that.

My understanding is that kicking motion is fine, as long as the skate does not leave the ice? Is that the rule change?
They always change the rules as they go. It can't be a coach's challenge and it has to be initiated by the league. A careful look from different angles, you can see a slight distinct kicking motion on an ice level and you can easily notice that. It is unnoticeable from overhead or at a crowd level. I would assume that the league didn't look from the ice level from our feed. Only God knows what their true intention.

Don't think that Predators change their game plan as they have been doing that all game long, overloading the Canucks whenever they were in offensive possession all game long by 2 or even 3 players within that vicinity on 1 player. I have noticed that and once they pulled the extra attacker, they continue to overcommit 2 or 3 on 1 player with quick passes and they were open. Just a bit open look is all they need.

DeSmith being injured for a third time in four years right when his team could use him the most must be some kind of record.

Quite the comeback, NSH is going to remember that missed empty net for a long time.

Watch the preds players for the OT goal. They're lost. They didn't recognize the open man until his stick was flat on the ice to take the centering pass behind the net.

It is hilarious that it can't be challenged.
