Does anybody else feel.... nothing?
I'm not upset like years past or even disappointed, just sort of apathetic. Weird to say in the midst of a playoff series but with the downgraded personnel and the injuries, expectations are just so low.
Low expectations. Same as Jackson and Bowman when they settled on the goaltending.

Team hasn't been right all year. They bounced back and went on that couple month run, but it's not all injuries

I don't really buy into the old and slow shit as much as some, but the roster is not well balanced (particularly at forward). Goaltending is atrocious
Yeah, the vibe felt off with this team even before the injuries. There were less than a handful of guys that performed to capability or overperformed this season. Draisaitl, Perry and Nurse maybe? It just never felt like a Cup contender so the hurt is much lessened when it turned out that they're not Cup contenders.

Holland was a million times the GM than Jeff Jackson and this neutered and handcuffed version of Bowman

Yeah, he made mistakes and the teams were flawed, but they actually got somewhere sometimes.
Holland also put this team in the position they are today by trading tons of draft capital for players that walked/were trash, signing the Nurse contract, whiffing on essentially every pick he made and then mismanaging the prospects he did hit on. JJ and Bowman are just an extension of Holland and Chia, GM's that have built a team that services McDrai, not a team that is cohesive and strong together.

Holland did have some good moves - Hyman, Ekholm, Foegele trade was decent. However I think all of those moves could've been made by any other GM in the league.

Hey f*** off

Kane is way more noticeable than Frederic
The only time I notice Frederic here is him taking a dumb penalty. He's coming off injury and pretty clearly has nothing.

Walman on the pk isn't making me happy either.

Somehow I feel worse in this game being down 3-1 than I did being down 4-1. The reason being is we've used up a lot of McDrai gas already tonight. Frankly even if we get this to OT somebody else has to get er done. Time for some other players to show up here and earn some pay.

Oddly enough Janmark has been one of our better, and dangerous forwards.

This isn’t a cup contender.
It just isn’t.
Might be time to retool and be shit for a year or two cause we got f*** all.

I’ve just decided it’s not worthwhile to get mad anymore. Maybe it’s age.

5 years ago I would never have missed a playoff game. Not a chance.

Katz continues to allow idiots to be hired. This whole org is rotten to the core. It’s best to just go “meh”

TNT commentator said Bouchard to stop taking space McDavid needs to create and worry about defense.

Guess he hasn’t seen us play this year.

Goalies are voodoo.

Meanwhile, while Blackwood was stealing games for the AHL Sharks, Skinner was losing games pretty much on his own and sitting in second-to-dead last in GSAx.

At least Skinner improved and is now better than second-to-dead-last!

Not much voodoo to this situation though, unfortunately.

Many of us called that Skinner wasn't it during the Vegas series two years ago.

Kane coming back really gave the team a boost, not
Hey, I'm just glad he's feeling like himself again. He's had such bad luck the last few years with injuries. I didn't expect much tonight after he had been off for almost a year.

For me it's not age, it's expectations. Last season and even the season before had all the makings of a team that can win a Cup even with the shoddy goaltending. This team just didn't have that aura at any point this season even when they were like 3rd in the league, it's just never felt right.

Eh. They had a decent roster heading into free agency. JJ made some "win on paper" moves, f***ed up the cap, handcuffing Bowman and Bowman did nothing substantial to improve the team (I don't mind the Walman move).

Holland wasn't great but he's lightyears better than this JJ / Bowman combo, which is basically Chiarelli 2.0

Down by 2 is not impossible. Gotta put in Pickard though for the 3rd. One more LA goal and it's over
We all know that's not happening. The coaching staff and management have a hard on for Stu. I mean, he's a good looking guy but goodness. lol
