It helps when you don't have to worry about an Ellerby Muzzin pairing. But yeah the forwards have been very bad the first two games. First two periods of this game were better but it seemed like every chance we had was a bad shot.

I agree with all that. Also not lost on me is that Leopold, Pietrangelo, Shattenkirk, and Bouwmeester move the puck excellently. Our forwards have had no chance to do anything this period.

TSN panel talking about Perron's hit on Penner in this 1st period. Possibility of a suspension. Saw the replay and did dish out an elbow to Penner's melon.

What's turned Kopitar into such a vagine?

The Blues broadcast have three times each game brought up the fact that the Blues strategy is one forward and one defenseman on Kopitar every time he's on the ice. there is no space for him but eventualy he's just going to have to work through it.

Tired, lots of icing the puck, slow line changes.

I still think that 17 game March just did in the Kings, that is when their possession time and 5 on 5 play started to drop off.

Two very good defensive acquisitions to go with two VERY good young dmen. Been a big fan of Shatty for a while and Petro is just unreal. Armstrong had a very very solid deadline getting those two.

Also really doesn't help when your top two lines are doing nothing. The fourth line is great but they're just that - the fourth line. We NEED our top guys to step up and our best is flat out invisible. I wonder if Kopi is playing hurt?

If there's a more competitive series than this one all playoffs that would be quite the surprise. These two teams are going life and death every shift.

Or another King has to take advantage of a mismatch

Still think it's because they won last season. That's a pretty poor excuse imo. They just don't have the same drive because they just won.

Says "he just hammered him from behind" followed with "that's a big play". I'd go with "that's a penalty" but okay then.
