GDT: WCQF: Game 7 Blues @ Jets 6PM CST FDSNMW/TBS

The biggest travesty is Binner is going home and HellaSuck is moving. Sports ain’t fair.
Here's a silver lining for you: The Jets are going to have to play at 110% and get folks injured to protect the goal now. They don't have an answer in goal and this series battered the FK out of the team. Dallas might eat them alive. It'll be fun watching Helle get the fk kicked out of him.

Everybody stay off the sports radio stations for like 1 week…. A bunch of morons saying what they would have done….

Huge implosion from a team that has exceeded expectations this year. We all knew this wasn’t the year. Just sucks to lose in that fashion.

Maybe that was the elixir the jets needed…

I’m on the Berube Leafs wagon now.
I would rather lose 6-0 then like that

That was all on our forwards. Simple passes off the boards and out will do. They kept trying to sink holes in one
Not all on forwards. Faulk got the Jets on the board with a idiotic icing when there was nobody near him.

He was also on the ice for the tying goal. He has to go.

Well it SHOULD NOT have gone to OT.

You have to close games out with a 2 goal lead that late. But you can’t expect to win in the playoffs just flipping pucks up ice and letting the other team attack you. We took periods off in Winnipeg all series long and it cost us, especially tonight and Game 1.

But finishing games with the empty net against us has been a problem all year.

It stings, it sucks, we should be on our way to Dallas.

At the end of the day we surpassed my expectations for the season. We made the playoffs, and we took it all the way to game 7 double OT against the NHL’s top team! This experience will do wonders for the young Blues, there will and should be lessons learned tonight.

I think it will be an interesting off season, not much draft picks, but I think some trades and free agency is where we make our mark. We need to find a stopgap 2C and continue overhauling the defense (especially the right side and the 3rd pair).

Edit: Missing Holloway as our 2nd leading scorer was a big difference maker as well.

Where's my feels like 2019 crowd?
Dont mind losing, team clearly needs the higher pick and are on the uptick. Good playoff experience for the youngsters. But team just lacks another killer or two to score meaningful goals.

Generally I agree, but blowing a 2 goal lead in game 7 with 2 minutes to play is a huge gut punch.
And blowing it the way they did. Chances to clear, just bad decision making by vets. Oh well. It just sucks to not have any more Blues hockey until this fall.

Go Stars
Go VGK
Go Panthers
Go Canes

I know it's hard right now but just a little perspective to keep in mind. This team is only going to get better next year and the year after that as we continue to infuse young talent.
Maybe in 4 years Monty will have these guys good enough to score on an empty net

18-25-89 were BAD

They looked absolutely gassed. Not being able to convert on a 4th goal early in the 3rd cost the game. Jets tilted the ice the rest of the way.

The sun will rise tomorrow, and I will enjoy the hell out of the rest of the playoffs. Since the Jets are the only small market team and Stanley Cup virgin left, I'm putting all of my chips behind them.

Dude, wtf are you even talking about? We were never going to be a contending team this year. Hell we barely made it into the playoffs. This team is no where near a finished product. We need to upgrade a ton of positions on this team.
I mean he turtled in game 1 and 7, lost 6 and 7 vs us in 2019, and the Bruins never won anything in the playoffs with him. It is a trend

I need about 12 weeks rest before we start getting serious. Wake me up at the start of August.

did not have a good feeling after it got tied and the blues never recovered

props to binnington for keeping it going for almost 2OTs

the jets were a tire fire but pulled it together under pressure while the blues fell apart

sucks, now tell us how broken holloway was

Again. Compare our current team to any of those teams. We are not on their level talent wise. We are not a finished product. If it happens again the next two seasons. Sure. But this season, no.

Tough way to go out, but proud of the team. Good first step building for the future with this new core. Excited for this offseason and to see our prospects continue to develop.
