I felt like he should have made saves on two of the goals. Maybe I'm being a bit critical, but when the puck goes through the goalie, I tend to blame the goalie for not making the stop.

That may be so. I don’t have a clear memory of any of the three goals he gave up anymore so I can’t really go there. When you’ve put up a goose egg on the scoreboard and your goalie has made some fantastic and difficult stops to keep your team at least remotely in it, he’s not really the one you want to point any fingers at.

Furthermore, while I may not have a clear memory of any of the goals he let in, what I do recall is that none of them struck me as “deflating” softies or anything. I may look at them tomorrow, but for now… I’m in bed and should get the hell to sleep.

I mean none of us are professional coaches, but I can’t help but feel that’s the wrong message to send to your starter. Especially if you think you’re gonna go deep in the playoffs.

I probably keep him in there unless he legitiametly needed rest. If the coach the team is tired, why not rest guys if you're getting blown out?

The expectation is that if you want to take a game off, fine. But you better bring it the next game. I will reserve judging it until we see the result during the next game.

No puck for Blackwood’s first career playoff shutout or Gabe’s first goal back in 3 years.
