I can get mezmorized for hours watching folks disassemble and reassemble watch movements on youtube. *LOL*
You too!

Yeah, the one thing that jumps out between the two is that the Royal Oak is definitely an octogon while the PRX just has that very sweet angular case. The octagonal design is a Gerald Genta design, not necessarily unique to AP. The Royal Oak is just a very very popular watch (among rich people), which is why you see it often.
I have a Tissot PRX that has a similar 1970s integrated bracelet design that's much much cheaper (obviously not as good of a watch either).
Come on Avs. It's 1.5 hours before the game. Just announce who's replacing Colton please.
I'm not sure we'll find out before tomorrow's skate.
I looked up most expensive watches available for retail sale.
$1,026,000 and change
That's retail, not some crazy custom one of a kind watch?![]()
I can't afford 'em either but have recently picked up watch repair as a hobby. I can get mezmorized for hours watching folks disassemble and reassemble watch movements on youtube. *LOL*
We already saw Landy walking in with his coffee. Posted by Avs official twitter.
Certainly there’s no doubt now.
I saw a pic of Miles Wood getting off the bus too
One time they played a three way baseball game to pay for the war...
Yeah, but i suppose that at some point people have so much damn money that they just kind of buy what appeals to them. I'm just glad we still have craftspeople who can design, create, build and tool these moments. That's what the 40K is buying you. The hand crafted experience and finish that no machine has been able to duplicate....yet.Now that I get lol
I'm just sad spending 5 to 10k on a watch is basically peanuts.
So is the game not on Altitude as well this time? I didn't look for game one, but I don't see a pre game segment.
True, there are some similarities but the AP is more octagonal for sure.Yeah, the one thing that jumps out between the two is that the Royal Oak is definitely an octogon while the PRX just has that very sweet angular case.
The powermatic 80 is a great movement though. How's it holding up for you? Had it long enough to get a service yet?
Altitude 2 according to nhl.com
The hideously ugly Richard Mille watches that go for like almost a million dollars or whatever is plain ridiculous.Yeah, but i suppose that at some point people have so much damn money that they just kind of buy what appeals to them. I'm just glad we still have craftspeople who can design, create, build and tool these moments. That's what the 40K is buying you. The hand crafted experience and finish that no machine has been able to duplicate....yet.
Also, precious metals. The fact that the case and bracelet are made from white gold, silver, platinum, etc.... yeah, that'll drive the cost substantially as well.
I'm still playing with old pocket watches i buy on ebay in the $60-80 range. Fix 'em up, sell 'em or gift 'em. It's a hobby... I got a good deal on a Seiko Willard that wasn't running well. It ran but didn't keep acceptable time if you get my drift. Most likely the servicing and maybe a few minor parts should have it running.... but I'm still trying to work up the to move on to my first wrist watch sized movement. The jump to an automatic movement from hand-wound increases the number of parts.
Consummate professional, no one ever said about Miles Wood.
