It's an American pilot. Perhaps they are taught to wait longer before pulling the ejection button?

The original, larger video on YouTube shows that the flames aren't as close to the cockpit as they appear here. Either way, it's an amazing example of how skilled the pilot was. These guys certainly have nerves of steel.

Yup, I agree. If he and Schwartz can anchor that line then I think the Blues will win (assuming goaltending is there.) They’re important for this team to go on a run.
I am slightly nervous about that line as a whole. It is not super talented for a 2nd line, and Winnipeg's second line may be better than their first. Ehlers is really good.

To be honest down the stretch I considered the Maroon-Bozak-Thomas line the second line. I haven’t looked at TOI to see if that bares out, but they looked like clearly the best line after the ROR line. If Schwartz can find his game he’s most definitely good enough to drive a line, I agree though, Ehlers is very good.

Ehlers can be good when he curbs his uncontrollable urge to go figure-skating. It all depends on which game the players bring to the rink tonight, and that applies to both teams. I'm not counting on Ehlers to shine.

This should be an awesome series. Although the realist in me is all too well aware of the talent on the Blues and the momentum they're bring and their incredible goalie, I've still got my hoofies crossed for the Jets. (Makes it bloody hard to pick up chips and snacks, but hey...)

Yeah, honestly doesn't seem like there is a huge gap between any of our bottom three lines right now. I think Maroon could have a bit of a tough time if he is out there with Byfuglien who is one of the few guys who can straight up out-muscle him off the puck. The nice thing though is I think our top line has a pretty clear advantage over theirs. Their top line has been very underwhelming 5v5.

What do you think of Perrault? I have not seen as much of him as Ehlers but he rates near the top of the Jets forwards in corsi and xG.

I liked his game a lot until last season when he got slashed across the hands (no penalty, of course, the referee was standing next to him and probably too close to see anything). After a lengthy rehab and missing half a season, he came back strong but doesn't have the finesse that he used to have. He still hustles like crazy and scores from the front-of-the-net scrambles, but his shot isn't as strong and his accuracy isn't what it used to be.

Just one moose's opinion; your kilometer-age may vary...

It took a playoff game, but the Blues finally get that one hour pregame I’ve been whining about for years. Still would like to see them for regular season games though, however unlikely.
