Oettinger struggled a lot of this season and sucked last playoffs, Demko was bad last year, Shesterkin struggled in the first half, Hellebuyck got lit up last playoffs, Sorokin hasn't even been starting recently. There's been inconsistencies even with the really good goalies.

Higher scoring league means poorer goaltending. Self explanatory
But you are cherry picking basically nothing. Not like those guys you named rotate being the best in the league and worst in the league. They rotate being the best and like the 8th best. That's not really that much of a low.

Matthews, Marner, McDavid, MacKinnon have all had bad stretches or struggled in the playoffs.

I get the overall point that goaltending in general is a position where being good is more mental and a goaltender can't easily compile great stats every year in the same way a forward can, but it's not like a random position. It's more random than other positions, but bad goaltending can hurt a team more than bad anything else and the best ones tend to still compile some of the best numbers every year.

People trashing Helly like the Avs aren't a good team with spirit. Did you think they were going to roll over? Helly is still a great goalie but the Avs have great players. Some days a lot of goals will go in, most days they won't. I'm not at all worried about his performance today.
No one should be blaming Hellebuyck, Avs have had the most chances by a team played in the playoffs so far with 29, 5 goals against playing against that is pretty good

Colorado just has nothing past the first line and Makar. Mack and Rants are gonna wear out through the series with this much ice time

Keep posting garbage, You can see where the red line seems to be worn away in spots. If it was called no goal it wasnt conclusive enough to change the call.

If you zoom in just a tad it's clearly evident that is crossed the line.

But if you want to die on that hill, be my guest.

If you're the Avs now you're at least leaving this game thinking "well at least we can score on them."
Avs honestly shouldn't feel that bad coming out of this. Their backup goalie is better than Georgiev by a lot and if he's good to go next game they have a decent chance in this series.
